Graham did a very good job in the scrimmage today vrs. 5a W.F. Old High... QB was accurate with a quick release. Receivers had great hands.. and the few times we ran it was for big gains... The QB threw a couple of nice TDS one long bomb .. the D Played good to other than two big plays.. all in all.. we matched up very well with the much bigger team...

Graham ISD hosted another successful Lu Allen Memorial Volleyball Tournament! The Lady Blues defeated #1 ranked Krum and #9 ranked Denver City in pool play. They defeated perennial power Windthorst to earn the the opportunity to face Krum in the championship game. The Lady Blues finished second in the tournament. Congrats Lady Blues!

Wow Sanger! Very impressive.. Good Luck this season.. We ran into a buzz saw for sure.. Scores all over the state were crazy..Teams lost that usually dont.. But oh well onward and upward.. Keep the faith. BUT more importantly....HAVE FUN!

Sanger nothing to sneeze at this year......they were very good last season with a young team and qb. Now they are more seasoned and will be very tough in their district. Decatur vs Sanger should be a great game this season......both teams should be improved from last year.


Problem is "their" district includes Argyle. Decatur put up 74 pts. tonite.....and Sanger scored 45. May not be such a "cakewalk" for Argyle as some people think. Those two teams have great offenses.

What game what a game. If you like high school football and you would have loved that game lots of mistakes lots of Heroes lots of fun Graham came out on the short end 34-30 I knew it'd be a 3 or 4 point game either way I knew it wasn't going to be a blowout kudos to Brownwood for getting that last blocked and running again great game met Dawgwood there that was great good luck Brownwood and Graham I am starting to turn for the better starting to get better I'm telling you

Graham takes on the W.F. Huskies this week. They are 2-0 with huge lopsided wins. BUT They have played the easiest schedule in the state and most 2A schools could have beaten those teams... Never the less 2-0 is way better than 0-2... Look for that to change this week. Graham wins and wins big.

This week Graham is going up against a team that is a primarily rushing team. This could bode well for Graham as it is a very good run defense and has only surrendered 85 yards total on the ground in the first two games this year. Last week in the Brownwood game Graham only gave 164 yards total on D. So the pass defense has definitely improved as well. It is good to see the Graham D returning to it normal overpowering self. It has a ways to go but boy they sure played well last week.

Davidson plays daddy ball and the coordinator has no clue how to attack good teams offensively. No longer blessed with talent that was molded from the 7th grade on. Sad times for steers

That is definitely a valid opinion. And it's nice to see you actually debating a point and not attacking myself personally. But let me say this about the coaching staff. Graham has had more success in the last 10 years than it had in the previous 90. Of course you can contribute a lot of that to the kids themselves. After all they're the ones that play the game. There's been one constant in the last decade and that's been the coaching staff. It's been a few changes here and there but pretty much the same base. I myself may not be the biggest fan of the coaching staff but I certainly recognize their success and what they've done for this town. Let's see how this season pans out then we'll see what move will be made afterwards. Even the best coaches have down years. But when you've made the state semis 3 of The Last 4 years that says something. As far as coaching to please parents. Well that's the oldest book on the shelf. I believe that happens everywhere.

Ok by the numbers vs. Burkburnett. They have a very weak D. They give up about 400 yards per game and 38 points per game. They do have a decent O with 215 passing and 72 rushing...but most of those were worthless 4th qtr playing vrs back ups. They are 0-3 playing a really good Iowa Park team losing 56-26.. a not to good Bridgeport team losing 27-14 and a still yet to be determined Vernon team 30-20..so by the numbers we win... numbers never lie but they are wrong from time to time. But this won't be one of those times.

ok by the numbers for Graham. Grahams D gives up an average of 160 ypg passing and only 79 ypg rushing.. 239 total yards per game.. Sanger dropped 45 on us and firmly woke them boys up. Bwood put up 34 [only 14 on the D] and Hirschi 0 for an average of 26 points per game. The D is really starting to look like the great Ds of the past or at least getting to that point. If Grahams D plays like they have been and the O continues to improve.. Well then Graham wins and should be by double digits.

The people that did it originally (production). 2010 thru 2013 moved out of the area. They had another group took over for the 2014 season but they had some internal problems. I have talked to the actual producer (the guy that puts the videos together).. He told me that he wouldn't do it anymore. I definitely miss them.. you can find all the videos on YouTube except the 2014 season. Don't know why they didn't put them on YouTube but they didnt...Hudl does a good job with highlights using the team games films for all teams on the maxpreps site. I have posted some of them.

Ok by the numbers. Both Graham and Bridgeport are 3-3. Both teams lost to Sanger and won against Burkburnett. Both teams have comprable schedules. But here's the difference. Bridgeport has gave up a total of 213 points with an average of 35.5.. Graham has gave up 173 points with an average of 28.8. Now Bridgeport has scored a total of 120 points averaging 20 points per game. Graham on the other hand has scored 211 points averaging 35.1 points per game. I think Graham wins numbers don't lie. But they have been wrong from time to time this is not one of those times.

Bridgeport average of 245 yards per game with 138 yards passing and 107 yards rushing. Their best rusher is averaging 68 yards per game.

Graham average of 380 yards per game 212 passing and 168 rushing with the best rusher averaging 130 yards per game still equals a Graham win. numbers don't lie.

By the numbers a snapshot of a few of the Graham defenders. #51 has 51 tackles with 2 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries...#17 has 43 tackles with 1 sack 1 caused fumble and 1 deflection.. #99 has 30 tackles 3 sacks 1 int 1 deflection.. #8 has 47 tackles 2 sacks 1 caused fumble and 2 defections.. #65 has 23 tackles 1 sack and 1 deflection. All great numbers 6 games in..keep it up.

I have to make a correction in fairness to this statement. This Non-catch "catch" happened in the 3rd qtr. But it still resulted in a TD that tied the game 21-21..Graham lost by a TD. So that doesn't take away from the impact of the incorrect call. Still don't matter but we are allowed to rant a little when it's such a huge call.

Wow what a weekend we are about to have. Football team plays In Vernon with playoff seeding on the line. Volleyball team plays Burkburnett #6 and #7 teams in state playing for out right District Champs and Seeding in the playoffs. The game is at Windthorst Friday.. Then Saturday in Denton the band plays for area and a chance to go to State. A famous coach once said "good teams can win even when they play a bad game" That's exactly what happened tonight. We beat Vernon 28-25. Made some great adjustments at the half.. Got that running game going in the 4th and the D picked it up considerably in the second half. Steers won Lady Blues won. Great day for Graham.. Well Graham's football season comes to an end. Monahans beat us 42-21. Good luck to them. Very proud of this team. Not many gave them a chance. Some locals said they would be 2-8. Don't understand why you think you have to make this personal. I have always maintained the spirit of the game for Graham on this thread. I've had several Graham fans and Graham parents come to me and express their thanks for what we try to do on here. I am thankful for the downlow to offer a chance to share Graham's accomplishments. I'm sorry you do not like it. I'm sorry you have Hate in Your Heart for this team in this town and apparently for me. Even though I have done nothing to deserve it. As I said before this is to celebrate the kids in this town. Please feel free to express your hate elsewhere. I do not know what has happened to make you feel this way but let me assure you that this particular thread is for celebration not degradation. Our youth has enough hate in this world.

brian, just from memory, Graham added soccer, correct? If so, how are the soccer practices going so far? Turn out good? Are there both girls and boys teams? Did Graham hire a soccer coach(es) or utilizing current coaches to try and coach soccer? A curious mind wants to know. :)

Yeah HW we are going to get soccer. Looks like it won't be implemented until next year. At least that's what I'm hearing. I might be very wrong about this but I believe it's going to be next year according to budget and plans but it is definitely happening. I guess they budget for two years at a time. They approved soccer last year after the budget was set. I for one can't wait because our private high school leagues are great and have won alot. Of course it's not quite the same as organized school soccer.
