May be coming to your fair town next weekend for the car show... depends if our soccer team wins tomorrow. My son plays on Wylie's varsity--no one (honestly not even me... ) gave them a snowball's chance against San Elizario (defending state champs) last Friday. They beat an honestly much better team 1-0 and will now play district foe Mineral Wells tomorrow. We split our district games with us winning there and them winning here... winner goes to the Region I Tournament.

They have also removed the fencing and the (pine trees).... Cedar from the north endzone visitor side. I have not asked around about this but the only thing I could figure is they need a place to bring in the large equipment and metal work.....?

The Steers will be the 4th seed and play Iowa Park on dates and sites to be determined. Two warm-up games will be played, with the first on Saturday the 30th at 2 pm vs. Bangs in Graham. On Monday May 2nd, the Steers will play Clyde in Graham at 6 pm. Graham has played and won against I.P. in I.P. this season so this could be a great match up..

confirmed from a member of the coaching staff today that we are getting new Turf this summer. Apparently the turf is only good for 10 seasons then becomes unsafe to play on because of a padding issue. It has not yet been decided if the turf will be the same or if it's going to be a new design.

For sure but it's going well. Just talked to my brother-in-law that works at Southern Bleacher. He said they're almost finished with the press box assemble, and they're also about done putting the actual benches and railings up.. The new field comes in week or the week after. I am interested to see if they keep the same design or change it up.

I talked #99 today..holy cow that kid has grown.. must be 6' 3.. 230.... He played lights out last year.. this season should be a banner one for him.. He is the younger brother of #20 from the 12..13..&14 years.. So expect great things from him. He will be a Jr. this yr.

That's funny todd.. Prior to 1942 Graham school colors were purple and gold.They changed it to red white and blue to honor the troops during World War II. So you got something there..

I asked a member of the coaching staff about the field design several weeks ago. Apparently it will have a design but at that time not sure what... then two weeks ago I was talking to a member of the crew putting the turf down.. I think if it is not the old style longhorn.. it will be the Big Red G with the horns in front.. like is going on the elevator tower....but that's just from a brief conversation...so I went online and looked at other fields that company had done.. and they have several example of 50 yard line emblems even with the center soccer circle around them..BUT..Then again?????

Here is something cool.. I was told this a month or so ago but today I have reconfirmed it.. Remember week two last year when most of the game vs. Brownwood was played with one three light standards up and running.. Even when all four are up it is still a tad dim.. Well apparently the light are being replaced with led lights that are coming from the Texas Rangers ballpark.. Not sure when they will be swapped but I look forward to a brighter game...lol

New Endzones are done. A little different font.. I love the black outlined letters.. They are laying down the rubber crumbs now and doing finishing touches... Looks like the field will be ready for Mondays start of practice..

Yeah as far as the field is concerned.. Those guys at Paragon Sports worked darn near around the clock to get the field ready for the team as band.. They are putting finishing touches on the stands. Unless something drastic happens it should be ready by the 1st home game week 2 against Brownwood. May even be ready by the 12th when Graham scrimmages W.F. Old high..

The band getting their first practice on the new field. I don't know if anyone knows this but Southern Bleacher made a special band section (section A) with extra wide platforms and hand rails.. Showing the importance of the band as a huge part of each Friday night.. Southern Bleacher Rocks!

Well not sure about the final numbers but I did here around 4000 total on the home side.. but that might have been for the first design..the one that burnt..
