Brownwood vs Monahans .. Region 1 final

This thread is quite humorous...lots of homers & haters.

Looking at the common denominators between the Monahans/Bwood schedules, Bwood definitely has the upper hand with more impressive wins over Snyder/Borger.

This deep in the playoffs, you don't want to take anything for granted, but I can't see Monahans hanging with Bwood. Likely another one of those games where a team hangs with Bwd until about halfway through the 2nd period, then fades away in the rear view mirror.

I know we had a M&G the last time we played yall there....which was probably around 2005 and we had a M&G.

The stands in that field are kinda like Sweetwater's....as far as being in a horseshoe. We met on the walkway at the bottom of the horseshoe...where the stands go all the way around on that one side.

I believe it was on the north side. I think the walkway is goes between the upper and lower stands on the east and west side and just has the lower stands on the north end.

I think Brownwood lost focus for the Borger game, reality check is good though. No doubt everyone playing at this point is good enough to make a run at a title but I predict that the coaches will have things back in focus for this game and Brownwood should play up to their potential. Next three weeks will be fun for sure. Going to Dallas this Friday, both daughters are playing in NTSSA state soccer tournament this weekend, won't make the game but will be listening and cheering for them LIONS!

As a Henderson High alumnus, I was following that game online...Carthage had to come back in the 4th to take that game, correct??

Have to say I was surprised by the hurting HHS put on Lucas Lovejoy...I thought that was going to be the end of the line for the Lions.

Some more info....I just looked at the pic from that year, and I can see the scoreboard behind us. So...I can only assume the scoreboard is on the side we had the M&G at!!:D

With that said...I am a UT fan. I am a Jaxon Shipley fan. I can't wait till he gets to Austin....they need him. They need McCoy ( or someone other than Gilbert).

Man if it wasn't for this messageboard, I might actually like Brownwood, but everytime I get on here you Brownwood fans are just annoying. I hope it's a good game next week. I don't care who wins because whoever does win will most likely face Carthage, 2-time defending state champions. That is the true test. It is hard to beat someone who has been to the big dance twice and won it twice. Lets just all show up and watch a good game next week regardless of stats, records, film, and history. Both teams will show up, one will rise and one will fall, whoever wins congrats and whoever loses good luck on preparing for next year and have a good and productive offseason. You guys on here digging up history and past references and talking about how explosive someones offense is, man drop that crap. Nobody is perfect, anything can happen. This is not entirely true. LH won back to back 3A State Championships in 2006 and 2007. We actually held both the Division II and Division I trophies for one week (true story).

LOL - You sure are getting a lot of mileage out of this "heart" thing. Overworking the heart is gonna cause "enlarged heart", "heartworms" , a need for "stents" or a "bypass", so all is good, cause Brownwood is just going to stay calm, and keep the "heart rate" down and win with game without going into "cardiac arrest".

Don't you remember, they under estimated them. They didn't realize Borger had a good D until the second half and chewed up too much clock to score more than 3 TD's by then.

Now on a different note. I have no doubts Monahans will come to play. They have always had dedicated kids that play very well as a team. However, so does Brownwood. I think this is going to be a very good game with both teams leaving it all on the field. You can't ask for anything better this time of year.
