wing t was great in its day (Gordon Wood is proof enough) but when you have the determination and ability of the Lions it isn't great enough. I am having a hard time with the die hards saying that Monahans would keep the lions offense on the sidelines.

I'm so bad. Being from San Angelo, I know some ins and outs of that stadium. So yes, there was a HUGE long line on the Bwd side -- but not so on the Monahans side--like 15 people. So guess what, I got in line on their side, bought my ticket, and they opened the gate over there 10 min before they opened the Bwd gate. I had time to walk across and around the field, pick a spot, settle in and then see the Bwd fans CHARGE in. Guess the only bad thing about this is my Lions count went to Monahans - but definitely not realistically though--cause I'm hoarse as a Lion!! I'm so proud of that Lion team. They have adversities and make mistakes, but make up for them in big ways. It was so good to have Chastain back. I love this team! Go Lions. One more game to get to the big one! Monahans fans were loud and proud and rightfully so! Those are some tough, talented young men on that team. I'm glad I got to watch them play.

Well since our season is over and we lost to a great opponent, I am officially a Brownwood Lion fan for approximately 14 days. Good luck go win State and make Region I proud. Ya'll have way more than just Shipley, you have a team.

To answer wimbo-pro.... Haha, uh, no! It would take the best offense in the state to out score the Lions. Monahans has a very disciplined, well executed, clock eating offense. Once Brownwood settled in, they started shutting down the run, run, run. Hince the 19-7 score at the half. Monahans first drive took 7 minutes off of the clock. Refs blew a fair catch for BW on the onsuing kickoff and Monahans recovered fumble. Only true miss that I saw with the refs. BW held though and scored every drive from that point except the INT that Graylon through later. Rare mistake on that one.

Monahans has some great players, no doubt!

Was at the game & saw the festivities under the big scoreboard, but being a rookie I wasn't compelled to join in.

A really good game...I think that is the first game where Bwood hasn't scored first/been ahead for the entire game. The Lobos punched us in the mouth & staggered us, but the Lions recovered. I was antsy when the 1st quarter was halfway over & the Lions hadn't had an offensive down. But the game fleshed out like many have this year, with Bwood putting points on the board & getting their opponent out of their offensive comfort zone.

The Monahans fans/team are straight class. After the game we ran into a bunch of them at the gas station, Subway, etc...and they were very gracious & wished us well in the next round. Very nice people & I congratulate them on a fine season. (BTW...what are people from Monahans called?? Monahanians??)

Did I hear correctly that game against Carthage is at Kincaide Stadium in Dallas?? If so here is the link to check it out:

Awesome! I was just talking to a Stephenville fan who had been complaining that Aledo controlled time of possession so that's why Stephenville couldn't score. Wrong. In order for the opponent to score 40, he is going to have to kick it to Bwd after every TD. I know it's late, but a couple of posts back, it was stated, "We scored on every possession except 1. It's not likely our opponent is going to score on 85% of their possessions, so I'm estimating we are a couple of TD's ahead of that 40. Kind of sounding like a bb score.:D

i LOVED that monahans crowd was so big & rowdy...it makes for a fantastic atmosphere for the boys to play in! monahans has ALWAYS supported their teams (boys & girls) like brownwood!! it was a site to behold if you were a visitor to the game! two great teams hitting hard & helping each other up after every punishing blow! hats off to you monahans!

Monahans Go Green Go folks, great season and great effort last night! The Loboes are for real, and have a lot of young talent left for next year! That was definitely an impressive first drive. Running back was fast and the defense was good, just over matched. Is Robledo a Jr or Sr, left my program in coat pocket in back of the car? He is a hoss, should be getting some D1 looks, and pretty darn quick. Congrats on a great season........really impressed with the crowd, classy program as always, see ya next year in the playoffs.

I was impressed with my Loboes tonight specially in first half this game was very close in the 1st. Loboes marching to possible go up 14-13 at half but penalties hurt the Loboes in that drive and nice stop by Brownwood. I felt like we were the only team that played with Brownwood all season other than Stephenville & Bridgeport. 2nd half they were just so hard to Defend the best spread team, I have seen since the 2005-2007 Bridgeport teams. We just did not have the Secondary to be able to do it. Shipley is the real deal incredible Football player with athleticism & lots of heart wish him luck.
Lobo Nation impressive as always these 2 towns really follow there football teams and it showed Capacity there is 17,000 and it was almost comletely full all the way around. Incredible.
Loboes will be back lots of youth coming back will have 4 backs next season battling it out thats great skill players will improve next season for the Loboes proud of our Coaching staff on the job they did this season with a team & year that was supposed to be our rebuilding year. Go Loboes!!!

When calling fair catch, doesn't the player actually have to not only catch the ball but hang onto it?
