For all of you guys who will be sitting on the Navasota side. There will be a 17 year old hispanic guy running up and down the sideline following the chains and going crazy while he gets into the game. The guy is me. That guy is always me for those of you who have already seen him during previous games.

This has been posted twice. Just letting people know.

Ask any passing qb and see if it matters...hell...ask them all and see if it matters.

Only the best of High School Quarterbacks actually READ what the defense does presnap and after the snap...but most QBS see where the secondary is and they have a number 1 and 2 receiver that they are going to throw to...if those two are not open the QB buys time and finds another guy running around...

Most coaches call plays according to secondary coverages. Most spread teams now have gone to no huddle where the coach checks the defense, then signals a play. Not saying that the Rattlers do this, but it can cause some confusion. Of course when you are three steps and launch a fade..there is no read.

I know...most pass plays if not all have one designed player that the QB is going to look if not throw at no matter what...

Why run a spread passing offense if your QB can't tell the difference between man and zone coverage? Many coaches do try to call the plays from the sidelines, but what happens when the defense is mixing things up and sometimes shifting after the play is called? If you aren't teaching your QBs how to read a defense, then maybe you should try using a different offense or live with the mistakes he'll make tossing it up into coverage.

you have been correctly informed,

altough they seem, for the most part to get the job done..

saying they are throwing (ducks) instead of "fades" would be a better choice of words ;)

How can the coach read the type of coverage?

im guessing the DC from the booth or maybe, possibly on the field relays it to the defensive captain?

who knows, that sounds a little complicated for 3A football IMO

The Final was 48-14, LH ended the game at the 2. Could have put up more points at the end but finished the game with class.

Also for the 3rd week in a row LH has scored in the 40's while limiting the opposition to 14 points.

Next week will be no contest. I know you still have to play the game, but Navasota is much more talented than either Pleasanton or Gonzales. I don't really see what either will be able to do to hang with us.

And Pratt might be a good back, but he just didn't have anywhere to run tonight. We held him under 50 yards. And just watching him in pre-game and during the game, he's not the fastest back we've faced.

Ha. I had 56-14. There at the end of the game, I thought I was going to be one point off until the refs kept taking 40 seconds to spot the ball and we let the clock run out.

So far for the season:

Robinson
Prediction: 35-14
Actual: 42-14

Carthage
Prediction: 49-19
Actual: 41-14

Navasota
Prediction: 56-14
Actual: 48-14

I don't want to pat myself on the back, but so far, I've been doing a pretty good job at my predictions...

Navasota should be proud. They had a very athletic bunch of guys, and played hard the whole game. It looks like Navasota has a bright future in football.
We met some of our Rattler posters at half-time, and they were all classy and very nice. We'd been going back and forth all week, but nothing but comraderie and pride for our teams showed up last night.
One quote from last night sticks out in my mind. Rattlerdude told us "man we really had no clue that ya'll would be this good!". Watching a few films really doesn't give justice to anyone, and I just wanted to let Navasota, and yes even Hemotoxic and State in 08, know that they deserved to be there last night.
Rattlerdude...I'm going to hold you to your promise to be sitting with us next week when the Panthers continue their ride on the road to repeat!!! It was my pleasure to meet all of you.

Well, I can also assure you guys that many of us didn't get home until REALLY late last night. The Dennys on the southbound side of 35 just up from the stadium was ridiculously understaffed, and we waited 45 minutes before a few groups just got up and said forget it. Anyhow, that first quarter just flat out sunk our battleship. Gonzales was running wild, and a usual conservative defensive game plan just gave us no chance at making even a single play. I didn't notice anybody giving the Rattlers credit for their second half play. LH's starting backfield was in the game until the final drive that ended on the 2. And that one goal line stand showed that they didn't give up. I am not making excuses, because I acknowledge that they got their butts handed to them on every aspect of the game. But some of you make it seem like Liberty Hill pulled 12, 27, 44, 45, 74 and the rest of the starters before the end of the first half. The Rattlers played to the best of their abilities even after being dogged out, and I am proud of them.

I was excited to meet a lot of the posters. Even Go Blue. You guys are a great group, and I will be behind your team all the way. I love watching your boring offense. Nothing is better than seeing young kids being able to do something perfectly without questioning it.:)

Hahaha....that's funny. Only visitors/tourists would go to the Denny's here lol. Lucky the ones that left quickly. You should've gone to BJ's or even IHOP.
