I think they will play nickel and dime packages unless Brownwood does run. That will be the key is can Brownwood run and get Wylie to commit extra players to the run. If so big plays could develop and give Brownwood a chance to win. I don't think Brownwood blitzes as much. They just need to limit yds on 1st and 2nd down putting Wylie in long yardage situations and capitalize with turnovers and punts. This game will come down to execution.:thinking:

Cant speak for Wylie. Brownwoods offense has been balanced all year. Multiple backs getting yards every game. We usually get around 400 yards of offense. Roughly 250 passing and 150 rushing.

As for the Defense, everyone is finally back. We have utitlized the blitz this year more than I have seen in years past. We dont really try to hide it, just bring them LBs up and bring it.

We are very solid on special teams. Our FG kicker is money from 40 on in. He can go further. He normally kicks the kickoffs in the endzone unless we are directional kicking. As for punting, I think we may well have the 1st team all state punter again this year. Im not sure what his average is but its got to be between 40 and 50. He kicks them high and deep.

I guess you should use your brain sometime rocket. <-- but that doesnt always work out for you with the way you flaunt about how brownwood is the best team in the state every year. Any idea of when yall will get your starting qb back? Hated to hear about your backups knee. Hopefully it wont be as bad as it sounds right now. Is Shipley back to 100% yet, or still have a ways to go?

Starting Qb is in rehab. Couple more weeks anyway. Shipley is 100%. It just took us getting the soph hurt (acl) to find a kid that looks to be a diamond in the rough. We will be fine with him. We just made WAY to many mistakes to beat Wylie. 3 turnovers, maybe more. TONS of penalties. When you run the spread, you have to have the right Qb. For now, #14 will be our QB, and he can get the ball out to Shipley so he can gonto work.

Watching Shipley make several circus type catches........I would say he is back. Graylon should be back by the playoffs but doubtful that he would be in any shape to play IMO. I have never seen a team as snake bit with injuries as Brownwood.:(

We know what you mean about being snake bit. We had the same problem in 04 or 05 (heck Im not sure). But managed to get just healthy enough by playoff time to get to the semi finals, which we lost to eventual state champ Tatum. But by then we were pretty beat up again. Had we been healthy, I really think things would have turned out differently. Maybe yall will have a little better luck. Funny how injuries almost seem contagious some time.

Very contagious. This is the second time in the last 4 or 5 years it's hit us. Good lord. It just doesn't stop sometimes.
