We had seen QF before and we knew we would beat them....we had not seen Madison or Canton or BB....I knew we would beat Canton and BB, but Madison had beaten Lincoln pretty solid so I was not sure how that would turn out.....the discussions on here by others about the lack of team cohesiveness with Madison were correct so we got em easy....Vernon seems to be a team that needs to come loaded or they get beat, so all we do now is wait to see which group steps off their bus.....

Go and look where I said I thought anybody would care if I was impressed. One thing I've gathered in the last few weeks is that according to a select few, the ENTIRE world revolves around Celina. WOOPIDY-DOO. You can say: "Why would anyone from here give a rip if you are impressed or not?" and all I will say is this; only the people from Celina will be largely affected by the outcome of this game. Did you ever stop and think that yes, we all love 3A football, but NO, we don't care how many games Celina has won since 1998? Did you ever stop to think that while yes, it's very impressive the record that Celina has compiled as of late, we don't need it drilled in to our heads? You guys say the same things every day. Celina is God's gift to 3A football and Vernon should even be lucky to play Celina. Give it a rest already. I do have a team to back, but guess what, they lost 2 weeks ago. And you know what, that's okay with me!!! My life won't be shattered because this year they did something that hadn't happened since I was in the 3rd grade.
Now about the comment in regards to SLC, I was saying that hey, they are not just the premier team in 5A, they are THE PREMIER TEAM. I don't think anyone in Celina is really about having all folks be impressed with our program....I know I could care less what anyone thinks about it....but the reason you probably get called out is simple....to think comparing a small 3A program and their results to a big 5A program is indeed idiocy....it is like comparing little Alto to Celina....Alto is killin em in 1A, but they could not beat Celina, and it does neither program any justice to even consider the idea....Celina fans get on here and predict our victory because we truly do figure we are going to win, not to make anyone be impressed....that is the same as none of us being impressed by the numerous haters that hope against us each week just because WE overstate our positions (yes I know we do and that is not news on this forum) due to being overzealous fans....but I doubt any of us will give up that zeal just due to anyone here....

the FACT is, Celina's program is working....SLC's program is working....it does not take one of those teams beating the other to prove either point, since the programs are not measuring success going for the same prize....they are each going for a Title each year, and I have seen no one from Celina state that Celina is doing a better job than SLC at that right now, but over the last 11 years, Celina has done THE best at winning titles than any team in the state....but over the last 5 years SLC wins that distinction...I will bank on this guess however - there is not a single 3A team in the state that would not love to have Celina's results of the past 5 years....NO I do not have those stats before me, nor can I swear they are THE best of any team in 3A, but that WOS guy has all that and I bet he can prove it up as fact...

Now we can all be done with the bickering....it is late tonight so most of the posting is over, and the Vernon folks will be driving this way probably early in the morning, so we are finally down to brass tacks - time to strap it on and play the 4 quarters, and we will see what we will see...

No you are wrong on the jv. It looks like a football camp out there. You have 4 scout teams running against offense and defense the entire practice. They get so much work done in an ordinary practice that it is unbelievable and is I believe one of the keys to our success. The standard for what gets accomplished at practice probably cannot get any better than what Celina does.

Ex-Celina player finishes chemotherapy

Former Celina football player Tyler Franklin headed home last night after finishing his 17th and final chemotherapy treatment. Franklin, a 2006 graduate, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma – the most common type of bone cancer – in his leg last February.
Tyler and his younger brother, Troy, a junior defensive tackle this season, started on Celina's state championship team last year.
Needless to say, Tyler’s family is very excited. I’ve had trouble linking directly to Franklin’s online journal that’s filled with entries by his parents, Scott and Holly. They are worth reading and will make you appreciate all kinds of things. Type in “tylerfranklin” (one word) in the top search engine. The site is below.

The exit you take in North Denton is Loop288 and is right where the Outlet Mall complex is....it is the next exit right after 380....that is a busy zone in Denton with motels and McDonald's right there for the I35 crowd, and it is not far north of where 35W has merged in.....but once you go east on the loop, you drive a couple miles until you see the stadium - it is right ON the loop so you can not miss it no matter how much you try....

For the record GWOOD this is what I did post at a more Celina friendly board.

In the for what it is worth department, this will be a game where we actually will out athelete Vernon. If we play our game your total
offense will be closer to 100 hards. We never relax. It will be a good first quarter and then we will pull away as your defense begins to tire. By the fourth it should be 35 7 or 35 14 and that is if you get a special teams gift.

Which they did with that bad punt by Taylor on the first series.

All that being said, Vernon was I think the best Defensive team we played this year
and Aston deserves all the accolades he can get. He is a true load. I think he was
the best back we have seen this year. And they were sound football and classy.

no it was not Aston....it was 32 the safety that smacked him, and then it was again 32 that got smacked on the punt return when we finally got in one of the classic Celina blindside blocks....and I saw several kids make wise decisions to NOT throw their block they were loading up for when they determined they might hit a defender in the back, so they chose very wisely, grasshoppers....
