) and learn the program.

High school age kids who come usually can't compete with the kids who've grown up playing Bobcat Football, IMHO!

How true. I've tried to explain that to people, but they just give me that "deer in the headlight" look. After participating in a few Bobcat practices, most of these "studs" are ready to move on down the road. Like you said, it's pretty rare that a kid comes in and gets a starting spot. Kinda funny too how these kids can't make it at these other schools, but can make it in Celina. I guess that means it's easier in Celina. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Those state titles just grow on trees around here! HAHAHAHAHA!

I have to agree over the last 6 or 7 years ingleside and sinton games have become fun to watch.....in a district normally dominated by sinton, ingleside has become a top contender over the last 7yrs finishing no worse than 2nd place with 3 district titles....i promise u even in a down or rebuilding year no one takes ingleside lightly in district....but all props go to sinton they have rich tradition and a proven track record for winning games....ingleside and sinton good friendly rivals .

I still will not be satisfied until the Navasota/Brenham rilvary is restored.

And, before anyone jumps my bones, Navasota vs Brenham was played for over 70-80 yrs. Navasota and Brenham are 20 miles apart on highway 105. Old Washington (attend Brenham high school), the birthplace of Texas, lies closer to Navasota but is in Washington County (Brenham) not Grimes County (Navasota). Most of the students from Old Washington know the students in Navasota and vice versa. Infact, Limas Sweed attended Brenham whereas his sister attended Navasota. They followed in the footsteeps of their parents where the father attended BHS and the mother attended NHS.

The last time Navasota played Brenham was in the 2002/2003 Season. It was Navasota's first reallignment in 3A after coming down from 4A. The last game was played in the Astrodome. Brenham was ranked in the top 10 in 4A. Navasota beat the Cubs 53-27.

When I was in high school, Navasota/Brenham was huge. In basketball, if you wanted a seat, you had better gotten to the game around 5 pm before the freshmen game ended. Football was not different. They beat us and we beat them. It was a rilvary and it was fun. I just don't see why you would end such a big rilvary like that. :confused:

The game between Liberty Hill and Wimberley in 2006 (year after Wimberley won 1st SC) may have been one of the best HS games Ive seen. Wimberley also beat the D1 state champion that year too!! Pretty good follow up year after winning State, just not a repeat! I believe Wimberley can have that kind of season next year as well. Wimberley and LH do not like each other and it is a great rivalry for a long time. I think I'm glad they will play again. Lol...

I also think Mr Briles and the OC and DC had something to do with that. We were up 24-17 at the half in '90 and lost 42-24! :eek: Whoever our DC was didn't listen to me or a few others, Ledbetter/Poston combo killed our 5'6" corner back. Coach wouldn't sub him.

Well in 12 years at Stephenville he won 4 state titles at the program that had a playoff win in 1952 before he got there, then went to Houston resurrected a dead program in 4 years. Now he has a Heisman trophy winner. I would say he is a good coach. He is also a good person that is very positive with his players and was great in the community.

Aransas even dropped Ingleside and that's one of the biggest rivalries in Texas highshool football, but I guess after you lose to your rival 115 to 0 over the last 2 seasons that's an easy decision.
