I am almost broke right now! I went to the Sinton basketball game last night and they have not increased the ticket prices by a dollar like they did in volleyball but they have doubled the prices for both the adults and students! :( :mad:

The good news is I get to go to a softball scrimmage this evening and it is FREE! We make up for it in tournament costs though. Admission to them is about $6.00 for the weekend BUT you get to watch more softball games than you can stand!:D

Oh...but the concession stand does make alot of money!:rolleyes:

Okay, the final say on the tailgater is pretty much no. They say no pits, no open flames at all. Only way we can do one is with already prepared food eaten with plastic utensils. And, we can only take up one parking space and must not interfere with normal parking operations in any way. With all these restrictions, I don't see how we can do this. I'm suggesting we just meet up inside somewhere.

here's a write up on the game from the cuero record:

Just nine weeks ago, Cuero High School’s Gobblers took a 35-28 win over Sinton’s Pirates at Gobbler Stadium.
The Gobblers are hoping to repeat that performance as both teams meet for quarter-final play-offs Friday at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The game is set for 8 p.m.
“It’s always hard to beat someone twice,” said Gobbler Head Coach Mark Reeve, “especially a good football team.”
“But we’ve seen some improvement and I’m sure they have too,” he added.
Sinton made its way to this level of the play-offs with a 10-2 record. Their only other loss was to Gregory-Portland 7-31. The Pirates defeated Crystal City 61-12 in bi-district and Zapata 43-6 in regional.
“They’ve scored a lot of points for the year,” said Coach Reeve. “They are the kind of team you expect to play in quarter-finals.”
The Pirates are averaging just over 42 points per game on offense while giving 13.
“Our schedule will be an asset for us,” said Coach Reeve. “Week-in and week-out we have played some good teams.” He added, “Our defense is much improved over the first time we played them.”
“Our kids play extremely hard and they stay level headed,” said Reeve. “They have a short memory, they don’t worry about what happened on the last play... they don’t get rattled. That’s what makes them a good team.”
Both schools have enjoyed fairly high ranking in 3A for most of the year. Both are in the top five of most rankings.
Offensively the Gobblers are averaging 376 yards per game while giving up 242.
Top runners for Cuero include: Larvell Roy 1,329 yards (6.65 per carry), Fabian Olguin 701 yds. (6.15) and Matt Schumacher 400 yds. (4.88).
In the air Schumacher is hitting 63% of his passes for an average of 134 yards per game.
His favorite target is Jeremy Ross, 33 for 624 yds. (18.9 per catch); Nick Taylor 29 for 376 (12.9); Tre Gray 14 for 240 (17.1); J.T. Rudd 11 for 161 (14.6); Justin Wesley 6 for 56 (9.33); and Ace Slone 3 for 61 (20.3).
The winner of Saturday’s game would place the winner of the Waco Connally (9-3)/Palestine (10-2) game in the semi-final play-offs.

As a true lover of GREAT Texas High school football, this game just gets me excited. I have nothing negative to say to anybody about this game. This is the type of game I remember going to watch with my dad when I was a young kid going to great playoff games across the state. I just can't wait! It's going to be a beautiful setting as well in the ADome. No weather can affect the game......It will come down to discipline and what type of schemes the coaches decide to go with. ON the turf it's a very controlled type of ballgame. Finally this game is full circle from when the Pirates defeated the Gobblers in Victoria in the 2001 playoffs. That is when the Sinton program turned the corner, and anybody that knows SInton football can attest to that. Well anyway I"ll be there friday and look forward to a great game. I have the utmost respect for Cuero and their program. THIS IS REAL HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL!

The only problem with your statement is the fact that if you pick up where you left off in the first meeting, you'll get embarrassed in the Alamo Dome. Cuero is somewhat like Wharton where they dont play to their potential all the time. They showed it in Sinton game where they were explosive from the hike of the ball, then look like they were just playing out the rest of the game. If they played like they did against Wimberly... Sinton by 28!!! If they play like they should the whole game then the Pirates are in for a game and we better start praying.

Ya, wasn't the score in the first game 34-14 @ one point? Sinton should have never been in that ballgame in the first place, but hats off to them for coming back. Anyway, that's in the past, who cares...the only thing the players should be worried about is playing this week! The cuero players just got back from SA at about 7:45, left @ 10am is what I hear.....and the only reason I know the exact time of arrival is that I was playin tennis @ the high school tonite!

I have seen Cuero play a few times. From what I have seen, they have a hard time running the ball. All of their TD's during the playoffs have come through the air or have been set up by the pass. Until they establish a consistent runnning game, they are going to have trouble winning the big game. They escaped last week against Wimberly in a game that could have gone either way.

I'll give Cuero credit. Wimberey was big and physical. Better than West Comlumbia I'm sure. They had a great game plan to beat Cuero and executed well. Wimberley was better than Zapata(sorry Zapata fans) IMHO.

Who has improved more since the last time these teams have played? I'll take Sinton on that one...

i dont mean for it to sound like im making excuses of past games...this is the one that counts...and besides who dominates the 2nd half cuz i know it isnt cuero...this time were gunna be dominating the whole game...i have to admit yalls o-line is good...weighing guys of 340 and 390 but we had the flu go through last time so we had 2 defensive captains out....and looking at our o-line jus man handling yalls d-line...this is gunna be the game of the year right here...everybody around here is saying it...this is the state championship...whoever takes this jus has to deal with decatur and its over
