The Ville is a scoreing machine, I did not think the Ricebirds would score as many points as they have. The K Dawgs gave the Ville a much better game. Congrats to the Ville.

Just saw 22 from Stephenville just do something that I am really surprised.
After a big hit from the El Campo player the EC was walking off and the Stephenville player ran to catch up the with EC player and grabbed his shoulder and then pointed to the Scoreboard.
I hate seeing little stuff like that from anyone, especially from a team that is up by 28 pts.

El Campo will run the ball and score points. No one has slowed down their running game all year.
The game will be determined by El Campo's secondary and/or Stephenville's QB's accuracy. If El Campo plays pass defense like they have in the past, and Jones can hit open receivers, it will be tough for El Campo to score enough points to keep up.
Happened like I thought it might.
Congrats to Stephenville.

Go back and read this thread start to finish. The game was a back and forth slugfest for the majority of the game. The difference was two defensive plays made by Stephenville in the 1st quarter and a 4th and inches in the second half.
It was a close game until EC was forced out of their comfort zone after the 4th and inches stop by Stephenville. ----credit given to Yellow jackets.
Props to the Jackets for their offense and QB. I will say that I was somewhat surprised by some of the things the Stephenville students did during the game (running taunting signs in front of the EC crowd) and then some of (not all) the players were somewhat classless.

NO, you should win & lose with class. I do not believe either guy showed their best but for a guy to get off the ground after getting popped, take off towards the other player and do that it childish.
I don't believe EGO points should define a person or a team. For all the Stephenville represents, I am just surprised. Not to mention he is one of the starters on offense and I believe a leader on the team!

Stephenville did nothing but win. El Campo tried to get a little nasty and a few times just needed a little reminder of the score. Congrats to each one of you for all the hard work you put in. There is no other school I know of that works harder than Stephenville. The kids earned the win with hard work. It wasent luck or 1 or 2 players it was a team with a goal and nothing was going to stop them.

El Campo, Kilgore, and Wylie all had great seasons. Each team was very good in its own right. Each team had a shot at Stephenville. Each team lost to Stephenville. Stephenville went thru some tough very good teams to win this championship. They earned it the old-fashioned way....with hard work and quality play. 3A football continues to be on the rise and the Stephenville Yellowjackets will just make every DI team out there work harder to get better. I tip my hat to each team, but especially to the Stephenville Yellowjackets. They play the game well.

El Campo can beat pretty much any team that primarily relies on the run. They are bad against the pass.
Ingleside and Carthage just weren't able to hit open receivers so they didn't take advantage of it.
El Campo's offense can score against anyone despite being one dimensional.
Jones is a great high school QB. As I said earlier in the thread, I don't understand why he doesn't have better offers. He has an awkward and long delivery, but it can be fixed. He can absolutely play big time D1.

Stephenville has another one next year...you saw him as #1 playing reciever last night, soph. Jarrett Stidham...passes the ball like Troy Aikman, perfect mechanics and accuracy..we are already getting ready to face him next year.
btw...the El Campo fans were greatness!! thats the way to support your team at a game!

Haven't seen the Lonchura fringilloides play this year. They normally have a good team, but never could make it past the first or second round in 4A when matched up against La Marque. It appears 3A suits them much better though. They got a break by playing in division I in my opinion, but "the Milk Capital of Texas" will prevail. Just a gut feeling. Those fans up there are veeeeery experienced when it comes time for the "Show". The current players for Da Ville probably were kids or babies sitting in the stands when their father, uncle, etc were winnings championships. It's in the blood...that is the intangible !!
Congratulations to my much respected rivals to the north..... something told me that history would repeat itself. When Stephenville makes it to "the big show" they make the most of it. Not to take away anything from my Crotalus friends, but I would venture to say those 'Jackets would turn you into crotalus molossus estebnensis if a head to head competition were to occur.

All I can say is wow! Over 1,000 yards of offense between both teams. Stephenville QB Jones had 422 yards passing and 125 yards rushing. Can you say stud?? That's 547 yards he had last night in the title game! Wow. Big props go out to the O-line and WR's to assist of course.

I do have to reply to slingshots comments about throwing it deep in the 4th. I do not see how you think that can be running it up. It was a 21 point ball game with 8 minutes left before that play. I have seen several 21 point margins overcome in the 4th qtr.
People can call us what they want but they also have to call us Champions after last night. Won 5!
Anyways it was a great game and the Jackets were dominate in the 4th qtr. They saved their best performance for last. That is what every coach and program strive for, to be peaking at the right time. Stephenville definitely accomplished that.

Had to shout at each other on the sidelines due to the amount of noise. What an awesome environment created by both towns. That's why Texas hs football beats all others.

remember the "no more mister nice guy" rant you posted 3 months ago? i do!! ..are you happy now? i hope so!! ..with what Stephenville had coming back , i knew back in feb. that the Jackets would win that 5th championship..you knew it too...that post said it all!! El Campo has nothing to hang their heads about..the Jackets were going to do that to any team they faced on that stage last night! congrats to you and all the Jacket fans, and especially to the players and coaches...they surely did not disappoint..and lived up to the hype..like true champions!

I agree with ya Todd. El campo has nothing to hang their head about. This game was closer than the score showed. Much like the Abilene Wylie game the jacket offense moved at a pace so that once they got a few stops on defense in the second half the momentum shifted heavily toward stephenville. But without those few stops Stephenville could have easily been facing a very very close game. I was pretty nervous until late in the fourth quarter.

I agree with you El Campo is a great team they were the best team represent the region, but I have to say y'all did move the ball well on us despite being down 4 defensive players 3 were starters the other one saw plenty of playing time and we also had a starting offensive lineman out all due to grades.... That's no excuse or secret it was in the local papers before the game.....I'm the last one to make excuses and I thought the back ups played an awesome game only down by 3 with 8 mins left in the 4th quarter.
You say Ingleside couldn't hit open recievers, but they had over 400 yards on offense 100 on the ground and over 300 through the air. So I say we did fine on offense between the 20, Ingleside was inside the 20 three times and didn't score as El campos D tighten up. Not sure how many yards y'all gave up on average but I'd say Inglesides over 400 yards on y'all defense wasn't too bad....that being said I'm glad El Campo represented region 4, they are a great team and I didn't mind getting knocked out of the playoffs by a team of that caliber.:nerd:
