El Campo is a great team. Very impressive to beat Carthage. As Ville said, Carthage made mistakes a youthful team tends to make. They are relatively young. Stephenville has youth but the leaders are veterans... the play makers. Stephenville will not have a meltdown if they show up to the game as focused as I saw them this morning. Players had fire in their eyes. It's going to happen.. they will be firing on all cylinders tonight.

EC is a solid well coached team , I know Stephenville has a great program for many years but EC will just hang around in this game just long enough to win it. A battle of 4A teams a year ago, they both expected to be in this game. So neither team is just happy to be there, turnovers will be key in this game. Good Luck to both teams, Injury free.

Another advantage I think will hold true for Stephenville and want to add, is that Stephenville has been here before. Several of the coaches were there as players and coaches. Huge advantage IMO.

I'm sure he is well aware of #6 Hunt DE. Manley 6'4" 315 lb LT will handle him (and he's no fatty either). Jones is an expert at eluding pressure. The greater awareness should be on the Ricebirds DB's. They will be chasing the ball all night. Kilgore had the best defense Stephenville would face all season. Ricebirds get ready for a show. Hard to say for sure of course, but yes, they would have had a great shot IMO. Stephenville 2012 is that calibar of a team. Depth would have been a factor though.

Ville, appreciate the back handed compliment comparing the Indians to Kilgore. Although I think a lot of teams in 3a this year in the playoffs were pretty close in strength. I am proud we played the Ville to a 12 point game (32 - 20) and had a chance for a stop late in the game at 25 - 20. In all honesty tho, Ville is on another level right now than what the Indians faced in week 8. I agree this could easily be a 3 or 4 TD victory.

However, to compare to what happened in our game earlier:

Ville commits two turnovers, one in the redzone and one inside the 30
El Campo is able to get a couple of long scoring drives and runs the clock
El Campo gets one or two stops

This is the only way I see this being a close game. Don't under estimate a dominant running team if in fact El Campo is one.


In the end tho, i think this is a 42 - 20 type ballgame with Ville getting the rings.
