I don't understand how Bay City has 100 fewer kids than El Campo despite having a 50% larger overall population.

Stephenville is in place where they could go several directions. We have been in district before with the Waco schools, we have been with west Tarrant County, or out west. Selfishly I would like to see something like:
Decatur
Mineral Wells
Brownwood
Stephenville
Springtown
Yellow Jacket for Life!
I hope we play Wylie and Graham in non-district. I have enjoyed the games with these two of the last few years. Which ever direction we go I hope we keepBrownwood as district mates.

District 4 Division 2 may be hard pressed to find more than 4 teams since Benbrook and Waxahachie Life both move up a division. Most of the other schools would be too far for the rest: Venus, Glen Rose, Godley and Hillsboro.
No way.
If any of the Coastal Bend area teams gets placed in the RGV district, it'll be Robstown as they are already on the road (Hwy. 77) that heads down to the RGV. I think Orange Grove will go D15 rather than D16.
There's also one small issue. There is a possibility of an opt up from Lyford. Now that the numbers have been released, Lyford is officially the only 3A DI school in the entire RGV region. Their nearest district opponent would be Falfurrias which is about an 85 mile drive, and their furthest potential district opponent, Mathis, is 130 miles. Now, if Lyford opts up into 4A DII, the majority of their district opponents are in the RGV region, with only 1 potential long-distance trip for district (Robstown) once in a 2-year span. Lyford's nearest district opponent would be Raymondville (5 miles away). Furthest RGV region opponent would be Port Isabel (51 miles), and furthest non RGV region district opponent, Robstown, is 103 miles.
Travel wise, it makes better sense for Lyford to opt up. Their team also did well this season, losing in the 2nd Round to Edna so I think Lyford would compete well in 16 4A DII
