Good thing Mexia is still 4a. That would have been brutal.

#37 Ranked Downlow Poster- Coach
You need to look at the whole picture - if you take Stephenville and Brownwood north where do you put Seminole, Andrews, San Angelo Lake View ? Region 4 D- 14 down to 4 teams - maybe Burnet or Liberty Hill to D-14, move some teams from North or NW down to D- 13 ? Need to pull teams west and
NW of Fort Worth to region 1 - getting all 4 and 5 team districts in R1 and R4.
Thus my prediction for Division 1-4A
So my new prediction for Region 1-4A:
Hereford
Canyon
Dumas
Pampa
Seminole
San Elizario
Mountain View
Andrews
Clint (opt up)
Fabens (opt up)
Big Spring
Brownwood
Lake View
Stephenville
Argyle
Burkburnett
Decatur
Gainsesville
Sanger
WF Hirschi
It doesn't change much...it just adds Lake View for the lost Wylie and/or Snyder. The only change I think they would maybe make is make that El Paso area their own district and have Andrews in with SVille's district.
That is why I said "selfishly" stardog. We will prolly get stuck in a crap 4 team district that makes scheduling a nightmare for our coaches.
Yellow Jacket for Life!
I'm curious to see what route Sweetwater's new staff goes in when looking for non-district opponents.
I'd be more than happy to trade the SA Lakeviews and WF High's for the Stephenvilles and Brownwoods
No way.
If any of the Coastal Bend area teams gets placed in the RGV district, it'll be Robstown as they are already on the road (Hwy. 77) that heads down to the RGV. I think Orange Grove will go D15 rather than D16.
There's also one small issue. There is a possibility of an opt up from Lyford. Now that the numbers have been released, Lyford is officially the only 3A DI school in the entire RGV region. Their nearest district opponent would be Falfurrias which is about an 85 mile drive, and their furthest potential district opponent, Mathis, is 130 miles. Now, if Lyford opts up into 4A DII, the majority of their district opponents are in the RGV region, with only 1 potential long-distance trip for district (Robstown) once in a 2-year span. Lyford's nearest district opponent would be Raymondville (5 miles away). Furthest RGV region opponent would be Port Isabel (51 miles), and furthest non RGV region district opponent, Robstown, is 103 miles.
Travel wise, it makes better sense for Lyford to opt up. Their team also did well this season, losing in the 2nd Round to Edna so I think Lyford would compete well in 16 4A DII
Pictures are fun

Go Steers!
Don't know what they will do, that's why they're written in pencil....just one of those hard to erase pencils that kind of erase but just not good enough you can write over it without everything looking smudged...
But 3 are 5a, one is 4a d2, 1 is region 2, and the other unlikely to be in district...subject to change based on # of district teams though...
I've talked to several coaches on several teams and all were already "penciling in" schedules. That was in October.
