WOS, you have a typo in the 1955 Mount Pleasant score. Should be 28-15.
    24 down ... 24 to go.

1978 Gilmer 14 Pitt 14 Buckeyes scored twice in last 2 minutes on 2 long runs by Robert Johnson. Last I heard Robert was a state trooper in Tyler now. I remember this because I was a freshman and this was the first game film I ever got to see. Funny how some things stick in your mind. BTW that 1980 team was crazy good. Watched them several times including the championship game against Van Vleck in college station.

I worked the 1980 Pitt vs. Van game as a pressbox spotter. Great team they were. The names Hashaway and Linwood are still on my mind.

UPDATE: The history has been updated through Week 14 2009. Pittsburg is one of only SIX teams still alive in the 3A playoffs but I will update the history at the end of the season.

Pittsburg has had some major peaks in their history (with 1980 being their Everest) yet they've hovered just below the 50% all-time winning percentage mark for most of this decade. If they win this week against Graham they will hit 50% for the first time since 2002.

This is the first time Pittsburg has won 12 games in a season since that amazing 15-0-0 season in 1980 and only the 2nd time EVER

looking at the years 78-80 they were very good defensively...the most they gave up looked to be 28 v. wylie (ahmo). that was during wylie's second run to the state championship game...won in 77 beat bellville and lost in 78 to sealy.
