This is regarding the Olympics who have kicked out baseball and softball in the 2012 Olympics.
One is softball which basically has been ruled by the USA, Japan and Australia as far as the medals are concerned. Our softball team sends its' best players to play there even though there isn't room for them all. (Man we could have used that Virginia Tech pitcher against Japan in the final though). It is an all star team. Japan has some great players and a fantastic pitcher who has given us fits even though we usually are able to win the games. Australia is always tough.
At the same time in baseball we do the opposite. Due to most players in MLB we are unable to send our best players to the olympics to put the world in it's place. That may be one of the unsaid reasons they don't have it because there is no dream team. Also some foreign players could play for their country like Manu does for Argentina in basketball. Cuba sends its' best players which is why it wins consistently. I wish we could do it too but of course MLB says no.
