Half way down the page on the left side.
I don't think The Bureau of International Expositions located in Paris, and the official committee for World's Fair and Expo's would be misinformed.
I also know the 1982 Worlds Fair was in Knoxville. I saw it on the Simpsons.
It was never billed as a "World's Fair". I don't care what some Paris morons called it after the fact. It was simply an exposition celebrating North, Central, and South America, hence the name HEMISfair. If the participants are all from the Western hemisphere, it can't truly be a "World's Fair".

I'm not trying to fight with you, so don't get mad at me. I'm just responding to a Texas history quiz, OK? According to what they claim the BIE consist of member nations (98) who regulate Expo's and set standards for what happens. Sometimes they're called Worlds Fairs and sometmes Expo's. The organization has been around since the 20's, and it's roots go back to the 1850's. They claim to be the group that choose the themes and locations. If you know different fine. Go to their website and call them all froggy liars.Originally posted by sinton66

I'm not mad, just saying I was around back then when it was being promoted and am quite familiar with how it was advertized. The Paris bunch had nothing whatsoever to do with it. It was simply an "Americas" deal.Originally posted by Mcguirk

It almost sounds like the old Soviet Union. No matter what someone or some country accomplished, they would claim they invented or discovered it first. I swear I remember them claiming they invented/developed the potato.
Yep, and what they don't claim, the froggies do.

Non sports related.
Born an OWL
Grew up a PIRATE
Raised a couple of WILDCATS
Now raising some new PIRATES
And I scored like 40% on this one by the way.
