Detroit's going to go 161-1 on the way to the WS title.
its so cute to watch the Rangers and their fans get all excited on opening day but not near as much fun to hear them in july at the all star break when they are all but mathematically eliminated from the post season.

weird...two of the last three seasons, the team was actually in first place at the all-star break...that makes for some really fuzzy math...Originally posted by injuredinmelee

Seriously dude???
Seriously???
Best team ever???
You act as though it's lunacy for a fan to have any semblance of hope for his team on opening day...and in case you didn't realize it, the thread starter was saying this firmly toungue-in-cheek.
yeah...the last few seasons haven't been kind second halves to say the least...except for last year, when they actually didn't have a losing record in any month after May (but 9-20 that month killed the season).Originally posted by injuredinmelee

But they did have 80 wins in 2006 and 89 in 2004...so they've been better at times than people remember. But still overall, not serious contenders.
Josh Hamilton will go 4-for-4 today with 4 HRs, setting a blistering pace for a 648 HR season. This will immediately earn his new nickname, The Great Hambino.
Rangers are my baseball lifeblood.
