Out of the top 25 there are still 12 Division II teams playing. 8 of those 12 are in Region III and only one will emerge. 5 others have already been eliminated. That is 17 out of 25 from Region III.

I love the Gobblers but I am thankful we are not in Region III.

12 out of the top 26 are Region III teams that are still alive and 6 of those 12 are guaranteed to be out after next week.... only 3 of those 12 will advance to the 4th round (Semis in DI, Quarters in DII)

Those 12 teams have a combined 109 on-the-field wins and 20 losses between them.

    The 20 losses consist of:

ten losses to one of the other 12 Region III teams that are still alive
three losses to 4A playoff teams PN-G, Livingston & Bay City
three losses to recently eliminated Madisonville
one loss to 2A Bidistrict winner Newton
one loss to Region II Bidistrict winner Chapel Hill
one loss to 4th place district finisher Palestine
one loss to 4A team Henderson

Teams of note beaten by those 12 teams include:

12-3A Champ Glen Rose losing to China Spring
16-3A Area Finalist Pittsburg losing to Carthage
25-3A Champ Wimberley losing to Liberty Hill and Giddings
29-3A Champ Cuero losing to Liberty Hill
4A District Champ Kilgore losing to Crockett
4A District Champ Dayton losing to WO-S
4A Playoff team Burnet losing to Liberty Hill
4A Playoff team Mt Pleasant losing to Carthage
4A Playoff team Midway losing to Giddings
2A District Champ Newton losing to Carthage and Crockett
2A Playoff team Hempstead losing to Navasota

The reason Region III is dominating the above ratings is because the only win any team from the other regions has over the top Region III teams is Chapel Hill's win over Palestine Westwood....

By comparison, the remaining 12 teams from each region have the following combined records:

    Region I: 99-29
    Region II: 102-30
    Region III: 109-20
    Region IV: 98-32

I have 895 posts and WOS87 has 1014 and yet I feel so inadequate.

    Great work as usual.

Your profile lists you as a doctor. How many hours a week do you spend on football?

I thought Carthage's only losses were to 4a Henderson and Kirbyville.

I just cant believe in a system that 6-3A teams so low. The AP is a better system but that is even flawed. South Texas gets WAY too much credit. I will take Vernon, Wylie, Graham, Sweetwater, Snyder, Decatur, Celina year in and year out over the top of the south.

only thing we can figure out is who best team is best in the state. #2 on down never get to play each other. Oh well, I know there are GREAT teams through out the state but ever year South teams get more votes and West TExas football is legendary for a reason.

According to the power rankings, Cuero should take PI by 33 points.

Boo hoo on your 6-3A comment. What South Texas teams are getting WAY too much credit? Cuero is at 13....Gonzales is at 44. The only way to disprove where any team is ranked is to win.
