ok i was typing a paper and hit a key or combination of keys and now when im on the internet i have no bars at the top or bottom of my page unless i move my mouse over that area does anyone know the keys to press to get them back?

Maximize the window. Or if its your toolbar that disappeared, right click it > Properties > Unselect Auto-hide toolbar.
