    Default Yuck!!!

    It's getting ugly again!

It says watch for ice and salt........can someone explain the "salt" to me and why we need to watch out for it?

I know I have been guilty of having too much salt around my margarita and wake up about 2:00 AM dying of thirst!!

the salt that is left over from salting the roads to help melt the ice can make your car dirty. i think salt also damages the paint on a car, can anyone verify that?

Yes but most of Texas uses Magnesium Chloride which is supposed to be easier on the car than Salt which is what they use up north(sodium Chloride). Dallas has used most of theirs tho.

Down from 78 tons to about 10 tons at this time.

Sounds about right, I know they were salting loop 250 in Midland from what I heard. I almost slid off last weekend trying to drive back to Angelo, took me nearly 3 hours instead of an hour and a half that it normally does.

sand on the road give you better traction. salt on the road will help the ice melt. the only problem is that any type of salt will create rust worse than salt water, be it nacl or any chloride.

also if there is salt there is ice and some times you cant see the ice and you can see the salt. And sometimes all the salt wont cover all the ice so when your lookin on the road for ice also look for salt
