Post Some cool links to make your internet life better. :)

Here are two must haves for any internet junkie...

    Pop-up Stopper:
Get it at POP-UP Stopper . Get the basic version, it's free.
It greatly helps to reduce pop-ups. It can be very effective on low bandwidth connections.
    .
    .
    Ad-Aware:
It's the greatest thing SINCE since sliced toast! Look for this link on the net!
Run the utility and free up your bandwidth (get rid of the spywares keeping your connection slow).
Ad-aware Again get the free version.

Most of you know these links but some of ya'll don't. Use them for your benefit. I love these programs and they make my internet life easier and safer.
    Enjoy...
Anyone else have a great program?

    SintonFan,

I'll tell you what, I run both of these things on my computer and they are great!!! Especially Pop-Up stopper.

If anyone doesn't already know about it, I would highly reccomend Winamp as their media player. It is much condensed over Windows Media Player. I would reccomend version 2.XX over version 3.XX unless you want to play lots of video.

You can go here to get it...

    www.winamp.com

    Enjoy...

slpybear and Old Tiger, winamp and winzip are great programs.
I like the fact that winamp has tons of skins and visualizations. Lots of bells and whistles for this really nice program.
Winzip is a must have for anyone with a 56K connection, for sure. It expands compressed files and saves a ton of time.
Old Cardinal, I haven't tried FreeSurfer. But I'll give it a whirl. Thanks...

    I forgot another great program.
If any one of you has a continuous connection to the internet( ie. cable or dsl), you've got to have a firewall. I've found Zone Alarm to be a very reliable utility. You get to keep track of and limit all programs' access to the internet. Now before you use this, make sure you know the name of the programs you want to continue to access the internet. It's great protection from malicious freeware that might be a cause of many common problems. The link is Zone Alarm It's about halfway down on the right side, under 'Also Available.'
    Enjoy!

I don't know a whole lot about it, but my computer expert son and son in law both tell me that the best firewall is Norton. It's not free though. We use it on our office computers.

    Good point Old Tiger!
I use BearShare (at least I used to, until some of the movies wouldn't work anymore). Kazaa is another good program! Easy to understand and lots of willing sharers. Ad-aware will kill the problems fronted from Kazaa's spyware and advertisers!

    66, PM me...
