while it WAS a football game...football is a a UIL sanctioned extracurricular activity JUST LIKE BAND...what, is football more important than a group of kids who might be performing for their parents that might not get to make it to watch them that often
i was never in band...and i played football....but the older i get, the more i realize that so many ppl think that highschool football players rule the school...sorry, but those band kids have every right to those measly few minutes during halftime as the players do to the rest of the game

The Sinton Band is SERIOUS BUSINESS!This boy is not the most athletic kid or strong kid. He is just tall and has a huge frame and heart. He wants his body to perform at a varsity level, but he can't make it do it. He knows he is not there yet and so do I. His words; "Dad I can start at some of those other schools, but at (random school), I will be the best I can be. I may never start on varsity, but I will know I gave it my best." Soon to be an after-school special.

I remember reffing a game in which teh band was running about 8 minutes over the halftime, Iwent to the head coach and told him i was about to flag his band and it would cost them 15 yds, he told me to do it, we did and marked the penalty off on the kickoff

Wow. How in the heck does a band go 8 minutes over??? I played football and I marched in the band. I'm probably one of the few actually look forward to watching both the game and halftime show, but the clock is running for a reason and there is no excuse for that.Originally posted by Chopblock
