The Lookouts End The Losing Streak
    Date Posted: 8/13/2006

The Lookouts end their four game losing streak and avoid the sweep, as they defeat the Smokies 6-1 on Sunday afternoon. Lookouts’ starting pitcher Homer Bailey improved his record to a perfect 5-0 as he pitched five scoreless innings, striking out 11 and only allowing four hits. With the win, the Lookouts have closed the gap on the Smokies to four games.

The Lookouts’ bats got busy early, scoring four runs on only two hits, thanks to a Smokies error and two walks. Aaron Herr led the Lookouts’ attack with a 2-4 day at the plate and driving in two runs. Noochie Varner also got into the mix with a two RBI day.

After an off day, the Lookouts will hit the road for a ten game road trip as they tour Alabama with five games in Montgomery and five more in Birmingham. They will return to Bellsouth Park on Friday, August 25th to take on the Carolina Mudcats in the last home stand before the playoffs begin.

glad to hear that Homer is back on track and putting up a bunch of quality starts in a row. I wonder if a September call up to the big leagues is possible...

If that's not a sign that the NBA needs to retract then I don't know what is.

He did his 7th grade year. He gave it up to concentrate on baseball....it was a wise decision...as he was ten million times better in baseball than he was in football...football just was not his sport.
