    Default The Statue of Liberty

This is the Statue of Liberty located in New York City. It was donated to us by a Frenchman in the 19th century. When coming to America this was first thing many immigrants saw. Wouldn't it be nice to go vacation to France to see the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Joan of Arc and also spend a few days in New York City to see this great statue and the Empire State Building and maybe a play on Broadway?

Go Sinton Pirates and Lady Pirates! I also like old movies like "Dawn at Socorro." I also like the Tour de France. I like the Pelican West Band located at South Padre Island, Texas. I'm thinking that road trip through the hill country would be just as nice. I can go from Waco...to Austin...over to Johnson City...Burnet...Llano...Mason...Fredricksburg...Bo erne...and then finish up in New Braunfels and go to Gruene Hall!

That would be a good few days right there!!!

That would be very nice. We have much culture right here in Texas that we sometimes take for granted. And Ad don't forget Bandera County has the youngest county auditor in the State and maybe the youngest one ever. Plus Bandera is also a beautiful city.

The Climax of the great Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Saboteau" takes place at the Statue of Liberty and this is a great movie scene indeed. It stars Priscilla Lane and Bob Cummings. Bob is falsely accused of starting a fire at a plant in California and he escapes and chases the main suspect Fly from there to New York City. Norman Lloyd is great in role of the mysterious Fry. This is a great movie not to be missed when showned on television if you haven't seen it. The climax is terrific and devastating.

Good news! The movie "The Saboteur" will be shown on the Encore Movie Channel on Saturday, August 12 starting at 7:30 A.M.
Bob Cummings starred in the popular 1950s comedy television show called "The Bob Cummings Show."

    Default Statue of Liberty

Phil C, there is a small version of the Statue of Liberty on an island in Paris. It is from the same copper and materials from the full sized New York original. It was done at the same time as the original.

Phil...I admire those who lost their lives to build this truly fascinating structure. Having been there a few months ago...it's a true masterpiece.
