As an FC Dallas fan, I automatically HATE Houston 183Sux. But in the overall soccer community, the name people wanted was Houston Rovers.
Rovers is a common name for some English teams with great tradition (i.e., Blackburn Rovers, Bristol Rovers, Doncaster Rovers, etc.) It would also have great symbolic ties to the history of the space program in Houston (i.e., Lunar rover, Mars rover).
MLS screwed that one up, and I am pretty pissed that they haven't given me any pre-made heckling material.
Just another reason to hate them....
