    Thumbs up Jasper Places 18 on All-District

    The 22-3A All District selections were announced Monday and the Bulldogs were well represented. Eighteen players were named to the roster, including District MVP Sean Weatherspoon and offensive player of the year Terrance Scott.

    Others garnering offensive honors were Travon Limbrick return specialist of the year; Will Alvis, first team offensive tackle; Jomar Cauley and Brad Chapman, 2nd team offensive guards; 2nd team center, David Walker; 1st team receiver, Josh Adams; 2nd team receiver Fred Stoneham; 1st team running back Toderick Hunt; 2nd team running back Chris Bronson.

    Jasper did equally as well on the defensive side of the ball with 7 members making the team, including Arnell Siggers, 1st team defensive line; Will Alvis, 2nd team defensive line; Tim Good; 1st team defensive end; Chris Bronson, 2nd team defensive end; Toderick Hunt, 1st team inside linebacker and Jaylon Clotiaux, 2nd team outside linebacker.

    And the final award went to Bulldog head coach Danny Lauve who was named District 22-3A Coach of the Year.

    Dang, how in the hell did Bridge City shut this team out and then lose the following week to Hutto? I know the Cards lost their QB, but that doesn't explain the defensive breakdown.

    When you can't move the ball, it puts your defense in a bad situation.

    Congrats to the jasper boys!! They had an awesome season and deserve it.

    Good luck to the remaining 3a teams still in the playoffs. State game is next week for 2a. Good luck to everyone!

    I've heard that our quarterback had the flu the week of the BC game. No disrespect meant to BC's defense. But it might help explain why our offense was flat.

    That is true, I do believe I reported that before. Chris Bronson was also sick during the BC game.

    It's just difficult to envision a team being shut out that put 47 points up on Gilmer less than a year before.

    OTOH, Gilmer's defense is not our strong suit. The vaunted "Black Flag" D just gave up 61 to Canton—and we still nearly won!

    Well when you had Jordan Patton, Edrick Bronson, and Kendrick Gilder it's easy to see why.
