    Talking is edna underrated

edna beat some pretty good teams. i think this team will continue to make some noise through out the season and maybe even in the playoffs.

Several of us think so. I picked Edna as my "Surprise" team from R4 this year.

Absolutely! They are coming out of left field and surprising some good teams. After this season they will be respected more.

I do believe they have a good team. But the teams that they have played are down a bit this year.Refugio, yoakum, seem to be down this yearand calhoun well they seem to be always down.Edna real test will come when they play van vleck and if they beat them by 2 or 3 td then i will believe they are for real.I got to say this i do like there style of football smash mouth.

Say hornet,Edna has played Refugio,Yoakum, and 4A Pt.Lavaca Calhoun. They look pretty sharp to me. Wish them good luck. Would they go Div.I or II???

Even though they're 2A......Van Vleck will give Edna one heck of a challenge.

I wouldn't mind being at that game at all. I have some friends from the Bay City/Van Vleck area.

M.Piratefan, Believe Edna could only go Div.1 if Wharton, Needville, and Sweeny all fail to make the playoffs. They are the 4th largest school in their district. Only Palacios and Rice Consolidated are smaller. Wharton or Sweeny probably will, so Edna and Rice will probably be Div.2.

I Agree with one of the posters about next week being the test of the cowboys. VV No 8 in 2A. Edna has speed that could rival Sinton's. The Edna progam took a much needed change mid way through the 2000 season when we got a new AD/Head Coach that is hungry to build a winning program. Edna has always had some talent but lacked the disciplne and work ethic that it takes.

With there new coaching and all the talent on the team this year, this could be there season, having beaten refugio and yoakum, I think says something for edna.

How is Sweeny doing this year? Havent heard too much about them. I figure Edna will battle them for a playoff spot.

Edna is off this week and I plan on going to watch Sweeny and El Campo play. Sweeny is another team that has a strong program year in year out.

Sweeny put in a new offense, looks like to me they are going to run the football more. They played a good west columbia team and lost something like 16-13.Sweeny another team that may be down a bit this year, but they always seem to be ready once dist starts.
