    Default Best "O"- Best "D"?

At this point in the season, these teams are among the "O" and "D" statistical leaders:

    "O":

    Liberty Hill
    Lake Worth
    Giddings
    Barbers Hill
    Gilmer
    Sweetwater
    Cuero

    "D"

    Sweetwater
    Sinton
    Lake Worth
    Tatum
    Giddings
    Gainesville

Who do you think have the best units?

The Bulls used to be that way, LA, and we still are to a lesser extent. The Bull "O" has always been able to put up the points on just about everybody, but the "D" has been allowing more than the "O" can score. Not good for our team's offensive philosophy or record. Was Daingerfield able to match the Buckeye's speed last week? (Not being sarcastic, BTW).

    3A - 7 Lake Worth (5-0) 227
    3A - 13 Gilmer (5-1) 220
    3A - 4 Snyder (6-0) 219
    3A - 19 Giddings (5-0) 218
    3A - 28 Poteet (5-0) 212

    Top 10 Points Against:
    3A - 30 Sinton (5-0) 27
    3A - 4 Snyder (6-0) 35
    3A - 7 Lake Worth (5-0) 38
    3A - 6 Gainesville (4-0) 38
    3A - 16 Tatum (5-0) 41

"Homer" post - our Offense is up there. 1,545 rushing yds, 20 rushing TD's by 3 RB's in 4 games for 2 and 3 for 1. Those numbers do NOT include the QB rushing yds, nor the backups who've played.

Defense - I know Wimberley's D is quite stout and I believe has only allowed around 10 pts/game. (pulling this out of my memory...may be a little off)

ON D these are the top 5

    Sinton 5.25 points / game
    Snyder 5.8 points / game
    Tatum 8.1 point / game
    Wimberly 8.8 points / game
    Gainsville 9.5 points / game

In my oppinion the bottom line would be keeping the opponent out of the endzone. but there is alway another way to look at stats.

Not my list, STF, I just picked some of the statistical leaders from "among" the leaders--it was not intended to be a "complete" list. Glad you added to it. Who do you think are the "best" units in each category considering other factors other than stats?

Obviously, not seeing other teams, I would have to go with homer picks. Sweetwater's offense seems to be very explosive. They are very fast and can have break-away momentum changing plays at anytime. Snyder's offense has been up and down, but are also capable of the big play that can turn a game. They have some very good weapons on the team.

Defensively, I would have to go with Snyder. Their defense is very tough against the run and the secondary is improving each game. Snyder and Sweetwater were neck and neck last week in points allowed, however giving up 31 to Levelland hurt them. Their secondary seems to be weak, which should be a big concern this week facing Wylie.

yes d'field seemed to nullify our speed. we could not get to the corners and big #72 plugged the middle. we did not get away from the run game, it was just not very effective.

Allowing just 5.25 points a game is great... whats even better are the shut outs we've had

    I think we allowed:
    2 FGs vs OG
    1 TD vs Beeville
    1 TD vs West Oso
    0 vs Taft
    1 Int TD vs GP
Not bad at all... correct me if i over looked something

i missed a FG in there, someone help me out

Barbers Hill, one of the toughest "D". Most of the points scored against them were on the secondary. A young "D" with a whole lot of talent.

they were also very effective at shutting down our screens. they came into the game very well coached and knowing what they were looking for.

the secondary is part of the D... so explain that one... unless it was an 11 on 3 or 4, the points were scored on the DEFENSE.

Just sit back and watch the show. We'll talk again in a few weeks.
