I think what makes Wharton's district so tough is that it is filled with rivalry games.

    El Campo since forever

Needville series got heated several years ago with the " place where hundreds live the way thousands wished they could " got mouthy when they went on a winning streak vs the Tigers. Since 2000 though WHS has reversed that trend, but still heated.

Sealy the heated rivalry that no one can explain. Threats of fights during football and basketball games and escorts to the buses afterwards are very sadly frequent. Thing is, when I ask the kids why the hatred for Sealy, no one will speak up. Maybe some old timers from each community can post the origins of these hostilities.

Anyhow, you get the point, every week in district is a heated rivalry game.

I'm not sure El Campo has any rivals in 3a yet.

Tough for El Campo to consider Wharton a rivalry when they are 22-2 against them over the last 24 years.

Bay City used to be a huge rivalry for El Campo but they have been terrible for several years.

The Bellville-Sealy rivalry is by far the biggest one for both schools.

+1. I would venture to say that Wharton probably dislikes Sealy more than Sealy dislikes Wharton. You can't talk about rivalries in Texas without mentioning Bellville & that team South of Mill Creek...

Good rivalry use to be Brownwood and Stephenville. Now "The Ville" just bashes the brains in "The Wood". No fun to watch these two play each other anymore. Stephenville biggest rival now is TITLE IX...ewe
