With the exception of a couple of playoffs in the 60's, Vernon came into 3a in the mid 80's. They bounced up to 4a for 2 years in the late 80's (lost to Sweetwater, by the way in the 4a playoffs during that time), then went on a tear from 89 on.Originally posted by Sweetwater Red

in sweetwater...if you wear a snyder shirt..thats grounds for a noosin...
...but seriously.... the last time we played snyder my junior year...ppl wore snyder shirts to school(outcasts) and the principal made them take em off and wear "I Love SHS" shirts...in red and white..hahahaha

I don't know about Snyder-Sweetwater but I have a friend from Sweetwater and his disdain for Snyder and Abilene Wylie is way greater than anything we have around here. Yoakum and Gonzales included.
