Mc Natt of Snyder threw 173'8" in the discus
Vasquez of Snyder threw 46'9" in the shot put. I think Mc Natts throw is the best in the state in 3A as of now and is #3 in all clasifications.

My son from huffman is throwing the shot put an average of 53'. Last week he throw 50'1/4 his worst ever, he came in second for the first time in two years. I think it was a good thing, it made him mad and this week he is throwing around 55'.

Its pretty hard to improve your throwing at track meets with nobodt to compete with. Heck I got 3rd in State my Junior year, but hey if i get to texas relays my throws should improve.

Are you going to the texas relays? My son was going, but his coach pulled him out because he would be throwing at district a few days later and he wanted him to save his arm..does this sound right?

I'm not sure about the "short" put distance, but my son's "short" discus throw was around 100. He hasn't gone to a meet yet, but is hoping to get 3rd in tryouts this week to throw at District meet. I bought a practice discus, and he threw 117 yesterday.

BTW, we have a couple of stud discus throwers that will be freshmen next year with him. They've both thrown around 130-135 this year as 8th graders.

Hey LH Mom not being rude or mean or anything but in Jr.High you throw way smaller discus then you throw in high school. In 8th grade my farthest recorded in a track meet was 155'6" and in high school its a 143'2"

BTW tell #55 good luck from a Green Bleeding Gobbler!

I didn't take it that way. I accidentally ordered him the wrong size, so he now has both. And thanks.

My son is an eigth grader this year.
He is throwing the discus 154.
His best shot put is 43-11.
He works out with the high school discus on his heavy days.
Throws it around the 110-115 range.
    12lb shot goes over 35.
