    Aggies end islanders' run
A&M-CC rallies in 2nd half, but A&M responds

COLLEGE STATION - The best season for the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team deserved nothing less than one of the most thrilling finishes a team can offer.

It just didn't go the Islanders' way.

Trailing by 12 to Texas A&M and reeling at the start of the second half, A&M-Corpus Christi went on a 16-0 run to take its first lead of the game. But while the Islanders had leads as large as seven points, the Aggies staged a late rally of their own.

Outscoring A&M-Corpus Christi 15-3 in the final three minutes, 33 seconds of the game, the Aggies were the ones who pulled out the WNIT second-round game with a 65-59 victory Monday night at Reed Arena

What was the crowd size? Man if the game could have been in Corpus Christi the Islanders would have pulled it out.

Go Sinton Pirates and Lady Pirates! I also like old movies like "Dawn at Socorro." I also like the Tour de France. I like the Pelican West Band located at South Padre Island, Texas. Phil is PhiI is Bill is the compassion police. He is also the Sinton Matador. Some call him the Sinton Prophet. {Also Captain Obvious. } BEWARE OF THE HOWLING BEAR! Pirate44 I checked the Aggies web site and the big time college town only had a count of 3,082 at the game!! That sure does pail when compared to our 4, 500 at the game Friday and probably would have been a lot more Monday. WNIT pulled a bonehead by not having the game in Corpus Christi from a monetary standpoint. What a goof! Mr. Goddard of the Corpus Christi Caller/Times Sports was right on this time!
