Rockets turning things around!

The Houston Rockets have won 5 straight games, including a recent sweep of a 4 game road trip. They are currently in the 6th play-off position, just a 1/2 game behind #5 Sacramento. The way they are playing, I expect them to open the play-offs against state rival Dallas Mavericks. They currently trail #4 Dallas by 3-1/2 games, with the higher seed getting home court advantage in a 4 vs 5 series.

Coach Van Gundy has always preached defense, but has acquired some offensive fire power to compete with the higher scoring teams. T-Mac and Yao Ming are the stars, with everybody else playing their role to help the Rockets win. Mike James was a great addition, he can shoot the 3's and play great defense. His biggest asset is that he has really helped the Rockets transition game. The Rockets have alot of veteran players that aren't worry about their personal stats. They just want to win.

Yes, Texas is blessed with 3 really good basketball teams. A good chance one of these 3 teams will be in the finals. Houston holds a 2-1 record over S.A. and finished in a 2-2 tie with Dallas. The last 2 games vs Dallas, the Rockets won by 21 and 10 points. Most teams would not want to play this hot team in the first round of the play-offs.

remember when houston beat dallas last time, dallas was without 4 of their top 6 players. how would houston do with injuries like that? when both teams are healthy, dallas will have the advantage with their deeper bench.

Rockets were without Bob Sura for many games. Their record with him is one of the best in the NBA. He is a key player to this team, much like Nash is to Phoenix. The addition of James has really beefed up the Rockets bench. This team has many new faces, and they are getting better game by game. Should be a great series, but I'm sure Dallas would rather play Sacramento or some other team.

Rockets defeat Portland by 31 to run their win streak to 6 games. Their 2 starting guards were a combined 15 of 18 shooting for 42 points. This moves them to a 1/2 game behind #5 Sacramento and 2-1/2 games behind #4 Dallas. They next play red hot Boston on Friday night. One note: Houston has a 12 game win streak with point guard Bob Sura playing.

Sacramento loses to Golden State last night, thus giving Houston the #5 spot. Dallas comes back to defeat Portland and increase their lead to 3 games over the Rockets.

Nash is much more valuble than Sura. in dallas sura wouldn't even be a top 7 player when everyone is healthy. if your hopes are on sura your gonna have a short trip in the playoffs.

No, Sura is not a Steve Nash, but Houston is 30-11 with Sura in the starting line-up. That is a 73 % winning margin, which means he is very valuable to the Rockets.
