Schools you ALWAYS see come playoff time...
As far as i can figure it, here is the current 3a top ten in playoff appearances. of course, before someone says somthing, this is not "times a school has been to the playoffs in 3a." this is as stated above, "schools you always see come playoff time"
1. Hondo- 42
2. Breckenridge- 37
3. Jasper- 36
4. Cameron Yoe- 33
5. Pilot Point- 31
6. Barbers Hill- 30 & Littlefield- 30
8. Port Isabel- 28 & Daingerfield-28
10. Atlanta- 27 & White Oak- 27
any thoughts or corrections?

How many playoff apperances has PP had consecutively? At one time it was very high...
I'd have to say Hondo is the team that rings the bell for me... They're there most of the time...

the two most impressive current streaks of these are pilot point and port isabel
only streak i know of more impressive than these in the state is houston yates at a current 28 years in a row
pp- 25 out of last 26 years (started in '79/missed in '01)
pi- 27 out of last 31 years (started in '74/missed in '75, '77, '01)

that is impressive!! even more so when it was only one team from each district in the playoffs.

Within the last 20 years you've got to put Abilene Wylie up there.
I would also like to add... What about schools that have playoff teams in just about every sport? Boys and Girls.
One school that comes to mind is Canyon. They have playoff teams in Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, etc....
-
also impressive, pp's last losing season was in 1976. 28 straight winning seasons. I don't know about pi's "off" years. they might have more

does anyone know if there are websites that post the basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball equivalents of collier sharp? if not how would someone get their hands on that type of info?

I think the 3rd year list is actually '99, not 2001. '99 was Coach Pena's last year, that year they didn't make it to the playoffs since 1977, which is why it was his last year in PI. In 2000 Coach Monty Stumbaugh came in and has made the playoffs every year since.
1952,74,76,78, 79,80,81,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,89,90,91,92,93,94,
95,96,97,98,2000,01,02,03,04...
