This weekend it contunues in Indoor Track and Field at the Big 12 Track Meet. A point is in the balance for both the Men and Women's team. The final results won't be available until tomorrow when it concludes.

Update on State Farm Lone Star Showdown
Go Sinton Pirates and Lady Pirates! I also like old movies like "Dawn at Socorro." I also like the Tour de France. I like the Pelican West Band located at South Padre Island, Texas. Phil is PhiI is Bill is the compassion police. He is also the Sinton Matador. Some call him the Sinton Prophet. {Also Captain Obvious.

As of today Texas is leading 5.5 points to Texas A&M's 3 points. Texas needs 4.5 points to win and the Aggies need 7 points.

Also Bull in case of a tie at the end of the year the cup is retained by the prior year winner. Since this is the first year Texas will get the cup since Texas would have won it had the competition been held last year. I figured out last year's and if I am correct Texas would have won it 13.5 points to 5.5 points. Ironically last year the Aggies got 2 points on what is usually one of Texas' strong fields. The Aggies got the baseball points because they beat Texas 2 out of 3 during the season and they also had the softball points even though it is noted that Texas' ace pitcher was helping the USA win the gold in the olympics and a large amount of injuries the Lady Horns suffered last year. Of course ironically Texas got a point from the Aggies in soccer for the first time ever so things may have partly balanced out as the Horns won the game played in Austin in OT.

Today is the last day of the competition so we don't have the final results but going into this morning in the Men's Indoor Track and Field Nebraska has the lead with 33 points with Missiouri close behind at 25. For Lone Star Cup purposes Texas leads Texas A&M 17.33 to 10.33.
Regarding Women's Indoor Track and Field Nebraska has a good lead at 39 points. For Lone Star Cup purposes Texas leads Texas A&M 13 to 7.

In the Men's competition Kansas State has jumped into first place with 37 points with Texas following at 35.33 points. Texas A&M has 10.33 points. There is still more competition though.

The Men and Women's Indoor Track and Field events are over and Nebraska has won first place in both the Men and Women's Meet while the University of Texas has placed second in both meets. This means UT placed ahead of the Aggies even though I don't have all of the results. Therefore as of right now UT leads the scoring by 7.5 points to 3 points. UT now needs 2.5 points to win the yearly State Farm Lone Star Cup for 2004-05 year while the Aggies need 7 points. The next points available will be Wednesday night where 0.5 points will be up for grabs by the winner of the UT vs A&M women's basketball game. After that the competition doesn't resume until the softball game on April 16.
