I used that messenger from when I was 15 till I was about 17... I had forgotten all about it until just a sec ago, figured I'd ask if anyone here ever used it etc...

i could never get a membership number. but i heard it was a pretty good chat when it first came out
It is very interesting, takes you into a whole new world of messaging... I believe it was the first messenger/anything to allow downloadable skins for your messenger...
But when all was said and done, all of those nice little gadget-like deals weren't worth it when you could talk faster etc... with AOL/AIM/MSN/Whatever else...
Wonder what it's like now...
I use to use ICQ, but erased it.

I used to use it...I had forgotten about it.
i heard it also had real-time writing, like if person a were typing, person b could see when they messed up or erased something.
I don't think it did... I belive Yahoo was the first to have that...
In ICQ, you had to type your message, then press send, and it would be like sending an email, cept maybe a tad longer (3 secs)... it was a lot slower than the others, just easier on the eyes I guess...
Wow...ICQ...that had to be the first IM program i used...it was really cool...you could send files like pictures and sound across it and i loved the feature where it automatically saved all sent/received messeges. Good times...i actually saw it the other day when i went home for the holidays...dang...that was like my 7th and 8th grade years...the last message i ever sent from it was like january of 2001...then i've been using AOL ever since...
yeah i totally used that for forever ago....it was so addicting, and so fun....i swore i would never go to AIM and now that's all i use, and ICQ was thrown by the wayside..i think it have over 100 mil downloads in it's lifetime...not bad
i used it...i wanna say it is still there, not sure though but i think AOL might have bought them out because for a while I could talk to my friends that had ICQ through AIM, like they merged services r whatever....
a lot of computer gurus still use it. not sure why....maybe some technical reason. Or maybe the lack if spyware.

up until recently i used it. but it got real bad about sending advertising im's and porne invites.
