Default A quick NFL Divisional Playoffs Preview

Jets @ Steelers(Sat. 3:30 CBS)- A rematch from Week 14, a game that the Steelers won 17-6. The score was 3-3 in the 4th quarter until Jerome Bettis rushed for and threw a TD in the final period of play. Rookie QB Ben Roethlisberger was held to his worst statistical outing of the season. The Jets have never won at Pittsburgh and only one of six rookie QBs has ever won a playoff game (Shaun King, Tampa Bay 1999), one of those things will change today.

Rams @ Falcons(Sat. 7 FOX)- A rematch from Week 2, the Falcons won that game 34-17. Last week the Rams became the first team without a winning record to win a post season game. Home field advantage goes right out the window for the Falcons, for the main fact that the surface of the Georgia Dome is turf and the Rams are the proclaimed greatest show on turf. These two teams have to different styles of offense but are both effiecient with their offense. The Rams are a high flying offense, while the Falcons offfense depends on the legs of there 3 man running attack of DVD(Duckett Vick and Dunn)

Vikings @ Eagles(Sun. 12 FOX)- This game is a rematch of a game from Week 2 that the Eagles won 27-16. Both teams will be significantly different from that Week 2 matchup, Eagles WR Terrel Owens is out with torn ankle ligaments, while Vikings WR Randy Moss will play with an ankle injury but no doubt will be affected by it. Many people are still talking about Moss and his fake moon of Green Bay fans last week and his attitude toward the fine he recieved but none of that will have any bearing on the game

Colts @ Patriots(Sun. 3:30 CBS)- The season for one of these teams teams will end in a rematch of the first game of the season, and a rematch of the AFC title game from a year ago. The Patriots won both, in fact Peyton Manning has never won a game in New England, of course Peyton Manning never had a season like this one. Last week Manning threw for 457 yards the 2nd most in playoff history. Bill Belichick will have to find a way to contain that high flying Colts offense, but it will be tough with his two starting corners Ty Law and Tyrone Poole out of the lineup, meaning Troy Brown will be used as a defensive back and LB Don Davis will be usedas a safety. Manning has never played well in outdoor in the elements, and New England is using that to there advantage and has left Gillette Stadiums surface uncovered this week exposing it to snow rain and sleet.

    My Picks
Steelers over the Jets- Big Ben will have Plaxico Burress, who did not play against the Jets in the first meeting. But the main thing in this game is Pitt's defense is ranked first in the NFL and the Jets will not be able to move the ball
Falcons over the Rams-Vick runs wild, and the Rams will have no answer, while Atlanta's defense will apply pressure to Bulger and cause him to make mistakes
Eagles over the Vikings- No T.O., no problem. McNabb has carried Philly to 3 NFC title games as it is, and Moss will not be a factor, not because of his injury but because Philly's secondary is awesome(3 of 4 named to the Pro Bowl), and Jim Johnson(Philly's defensive corrdinator will blitz and apply pressure to Culpepper all day
Colts over the Patriots-The Colts defense isnt good but it will be good enough, concerning the Pats defense,Belichick is a genius and so is the Pats D coordinator, but they are not miracle workers and will not be able to overcome the injuries to the secondary and Manning will have a great game

I like the Steelers and the Falcons on Saturday, but i'd like to see Minnesota beat the Eagles and Peyton Manning dominate the Patriots Sunday
