Wild in the Country

Channel 258 is showing the great Elvis Presley movie "Wild in the Country" right now! This was a great dramatic role for Elvis and should have in the opinion of many people got him oscar consideration. It also stars Hope Lange (who became famous in tv series The Ghost and Mrs. Meir or whatever it was, John Ireland ( a distinguished actor in many movie), Tuesday Weld ( a great actress), Millie Perkins (The oldest daughter in tvs Father Knows Best and was one of Andy Griffith's girlfriends on his shot (she was the pharmacist), and Gary Lockwood (a great character actor). It also had Christina Crawford as Lockwood's girlfriend - she was the adopted daughter of Joan Crawford and later wrote the best seller Mommie Dearest. A Great movie indeed. It is shown fairly regularly and worth watching out for.

Did Elvis play high school football? Just curious.

I think one of his better acting roles was "Change of Habit" with Mary Tyler Moore. The song "In The Ghetto" (written by Mac Davis) came from that movie.
