I understand that 5 Merkel coaches have resigned due to inappropriate conduct .. Is this true . I saw something on the Abilene news about somthing dealing with Child protective sevices but I had to leave before hearing the story. Anyone know??

School abuse investigated
MERKEL -- Allegations of child abuse in Merkel schools have Child Protective Services and law enforcement raising questions. Several agencies began investigating allegations of improper conduct back in August. Authorities began interviewing students Tuesday. They would not say how many possible victims are involved or comment on the type or extent of the abuse. Merkel Superintendent Bill Hood says his school board is just as concerned about the allegations as the rest of the community. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact the Child Protective Services 24-hour hotline at 1-800-252-5400…or the Taylor County sheriff's department. You will remain anonymous.
