    Default Low scoring girls basketball games

    I've noticed that a lot of girls baskeball games scores have been low scoring (District and non-district. Like 40-35, 42-41 and some 36-28-Is this now common or coaches emphasizing slowing the pace and working on defense- You don't see many g ames in the 50s or 60s or higher...
    Seem like they would be boring to watch as fans

    I'm sure lots of turnovers and missed free throws have something to do with it

    The lack of shot clock leads to a lot of stall offense.

    Most girls teams cannot run an offensive set for 30 seconds without a turnover. I have been officiating basketball for 45 years and the quality of play (except for the elite programs) continues to slide.

    I covered a girls game back in the late 1980s when I was writing for the Wharton Newspaper and the final score ended up at 8-2
