Ricker does walk 3 in his no-hitter. Argyle hit 5 homers tonight.....2 grand slams, 2 3-run homers, and one solo shot.

    Argyle 21
    Brownwood 0

    Final.....Game 1 of the series.
I must've missed a run and a hit somewhere......it ended up 22-0 with 18 hits. Not that it really matters, but didn't want to give the wrong score.

    Iowa Park 6
    Decatur 2

Final......Game 1 in the series. This matchup is a good one, for sure. Nobody really knows just how good Iowa Park is......they've only lost 2 games all year. One early to Levelland and one to Argyle right before district play. Argyle played Decatur in district play twice and knows they are a very good team.

    Decatur 2

Final......Game 2 and Series. Iowa Park(31-2 now) knocks off Decatur in 2 games tonight to advance to the Region 1 Semifinals next week. Congrats to the Hawks. Decatur ends with a very impressive 28-7 season record against some darn good teams(2 losses each to Argyle and Iowa Park).

Two really good teams in Region 1 are still playing.....Argyle(34-1-1) and Iowa Park(31-2). These are the two best records in all of Class 4A this season. Canton's season ended last week at (31-2) also.

That first kid that hit it well over 400 feet kind of set the tone!

Hope to at least make it a little more competitive today.

Dillon Carter.....CF and RHP that bats 2nd in the lineup and from the left side. He's committed to Texas Tech and was a heckuva a football player and track athlete also. The guy is just athletic with all kinds of well-developed skills from playing sports. He hit the solo shot in the first.

Hereford advanced to play Iowa Park(31-2 now) next week. Iowa Park defeated a highly talented Decatur team in 2 games last night also. In Region 3......Huffman Hargrave(19-8 now) sent Hardin Jefferson home and ended their season at (19-11) in 2 games.

There will be some teams trying to win their 2nd game of the series tonight to advance to next week's regional semifinal round, and some who lost last night trying to even up the series. Some teams will be playing their first and possibly 2nd game also tonight in a series matchup. Argyle will attempt to win again tonight against Brownwood in Glen Rose to win the series in 2 games and advance to the semifinals next week in Region 1. They will get the winner of Canyon(20-9-1) vs Pampa(21-6-1). The first game of this matchup series begins tonight and is continued with Game 2 and possibly Game 3 on Saturday. The weather could possibly cause a problem w/ storms in the forecast for West Texas.

Argyle vs Brownwood in Game 2 in Glen Rose now......Dillon Carter just hit a line drive homer to right center with a man on first. One run had scored already.....there are two outs in the bottom of the 2nd.

    Argyle 6
    Brownwood 1

    End of 2nd

Sr. Sean Bolin, the Utah commit.....is on the hill for Argyle tonight. He's a 6-3/200 RHP.

Argyle loads the bases in the bottom of the 3rd with a couple of walks......then a pitching change by Brownwood. Lead off batter Preston King(2nd baseman) hits a Grand Salame to clear the bases. 3rd Grand Slam against Brownwood in this series so far. Still no outs yet.

Time for Argyle to start subbing some of the bench players now. They need some playing time as much as possible.

Double play by the Brownwood pitcher on a sharp line drive back to him by Austin King(catcher). Gonzo up with 2 down and the bases cleared. Bad throw to first by the shortstop, so Gonzo reaches on a throwing error of a routine shot to shortstop. Merka up next.
