In Region 3, F24 Columbia(9-18) will meet W24 Sweeny(24-7) in a series also. Notice these two teams are from the same district. Sinton defeated Robstown 5-3 and 2-0 in both district meetings earlier this season.
Actually in Region 2, F11 Melissa(24-10) will play R10 Sunnyvale(23-4-2) in a series matchup this week. Melissa is a perennial playoff team in this region.....not really a true #4 seed, but that's the way it worked out this season.
So looks like there are four #4 seeds that advanced to the 3rd Round this season.

Yesterdays are gone forever and tomorrows may never happen, but today you have the opportunity to make a difference.

No one-gamers this week in the Regional Quarterfinals......the schedule is all filled in and everybody is playing a series. Best of luck to all the teams playing this week.

Lots of 3rd Round series start tonight across the landscape of Texas. There were 2 games last night in Class 4A Round 3. Sweeny(24-7) defeated West Columbia(10-18) 16-0 in Game 1 of their series and Bellville(22-9) got a big win against Fulshear(25-4-1) 5-2. There are 12 games scheduled for tonight in Class 4A.

West Columbia had good baseball program several years ago, knock out Sinton back to back years, pretty good teams. Don't think they ever made it to state tourney but made deep runs.

Tonite in Glen Rose....Argyle scores in the first inning on a Dylan Carter homer. Then in the 2nd, Argyle loads the bases and Bo Hogeboom hits a towering grand slam to dead center over the high wall at 340 feet.

    After 1 1/2 innings
    Argyle 5
    Brownwood 0

Alex Gonzales drives in a run with a deep sacrifice fly to right field with the bases loaded in the top of the 3rd. Then the next batter 3rd baseman Cade Merka catches one flush and drives a line drive homer over the deepest part of the park in left center for a 3-run homer. That's one homer in each inning for Argyle.

    After 3 1/2 innings

    Argyle 9
    Brownwood 0

Ricker on the mound for Argyle. No hits by Brownwood yet.
