    Default Smaller schools (2-A, 4A) that don't play a non-district basketball schedule

Do any schools in your area that didn't play any non district basketball schedule because of them playing late in the football playoffs like Cuero, Yoakum etc
East Bernard made it to the regional quarterfinal and didn't play any games until district started two weeks ago and doesn't have any more games until district starts up again on Jan 4.
It's their school policy for boys and girls (playing in the volleyball playoffs)
EB's coach who I won't name- practices this method so they will only play 12 district games against the likes of Tidehaven. Boling, Danbury, Hitchcock, Van Vleck and Palacios.
They won their first district game against Tidehaven

Its pretty simple. At these schools, football is important and basketball is not. For all intensive purposes a vast majority of sub 5a schools only promote football and volleyball. The other sports are really just "activities" that sporadically take place between football/volleyball seasons. For good measure they throw in some good ole universal offseason to make sure that football is what its all about. The move I like the best is the old you cant be in the athletic period in the fall if you dont play football/volleyball bit. Then, in the spring, you can be in the athletic period but you have to go through the offseason program (which doesnt pertain to your sport) and only do your sport after school. You think they would ever put the football only kids into pe class in the spring since they arent involved with a spring sport? Heck no!

If they have kids just playing football they are missing the boat anyway. Those kids need to be fielding ground balls, shooting free throws, and running track.

Back in the 2A days Celina didn't even bother to schedule boys varsity games before Christmas. Now that they are 4A and (by coincidence) have a true basketball-only stud, that no longer holds true.
    24 down ... 24 to go.
