According to Matt, the last team to win state their first year was Beaumont west brook in 1982. Only 2 teams have ever done it. Guessing the other was Estacado like you mentioned
West Brook was the result of a merger... Beaumont Hebert (which had recently won a title in 1976) and Beaumont Forest Park so had a full class of experienced juniors and seniors. Lubbock Estacado was the first and only school so far to win as a brand new school that wasn't a merger. They won 24 consecutive games from 1968-1969 finally losing to Brownwood in the 1969 playoffs. Hamshire-Fannett also went undefeated in their first varsity season in 1961 (12-0) BUT they weren't in a high enough classification to compete for a state title only winning a regional championship AND they were also the result of a merger.

Alvin ISD has plans for a 4th high school. Will be located right off of 288 in Iowa Colony, they hope to have it open by 2022.
I don’t really understand why it’s called Alvin Shadow Creek... it’s really not even close to Alvin.
Don’t think the new HS will affect success of shadow creek either
