After Carthage pulled off that miracle at The Star I don’t think they will get beat. If somebody was going to do it, MH was that team. Feels a lot like 2016. Will be interesting if we play Argyle. I think Argyle, MH, and Carthage are all very similar this year. It was funny playing MH cause they looked a lot like Carthage. I would expect Argyle to look and play the same.

I know LV steam rolled MH but that was the 5th game of the season, and MH fans told me their offense didn’t show up that night. Just don’t think LV can beat this Carthage team being 1 dimensional. We can match up somewhat athlete for athlete, and we have Surratt and Preston.

I think LV has too many superior athletes for Argyle to beat them twice. I would love to see Argyle Carthage cause I think the potential is there to be as good as the MH vs Carthage game. But I think it’s LV vs Carthage. That game will be very close, but would be a much different type of game than Argyle Carthage.

But don’t get me wrong. LV, Argyle, LH, and Carthage all can win state this year. A lot of parity. There is no 2017 Carthage or 2015 LV this year. I think all the big 4 left are very equal. It comes down to coaching, executing, and a little luck. Everybody knows Carthage is one of the luckiest teams ever under Surratt in the playoffs. Seems like every call or situation goes his way. Example: He goes for 2 and gets it. Van and Marshall do the same thing and they are at the house. People want to run the Marshall coach out of town (which I agree with). With all things equal I just don’t see how you would pick against the GOAT. There is no “elite” team out there this year to dethrone him. All 4 are great, but they all have flaws.

My pick for D2 is WOS. When you get a team from a program like that rolling they are hard to beat. And nobody looks special to me this year in D2. Another team to watch is Pitt. Them boys can go. They have 2a numbers, but they got 3-4 kids that can really ball. Not saying they will win, but they are the definition of darkhorse.

I would really advise you to go look at some Waco lavega film! Waco La Vega is going to beat Argyle really bad this week in the rematch between this two team. I watched the Waco Vega versus Paris game and both of those teams are more physical and have way more athletes than Carthage and Argyle. Carthage doesn't have the defense this year in my opinion to match up with Waco La Vegas offense. Carthage's d-line is very good everything else is suspect in my opinion. Waco La Vega has three running backs that if they get past a d line nobody is stopping them. Carthage and Waco La Vega will meet in the state championship and when that happens I pray Carthage wins believe me we're definitely going to need prayer!

I watched the game on tape again this morning also. Okay....if you say so. I believe Argyle can get some stops on LV, but LV will also break a few. The real question is whether Argyle will be able to keep pace offensively with LV in the bad weather forecasted for this game. How many stops can the Argyle D get without allowing LV a score, and how many times can Argyle actually score under the conditions against the LV defense? IMO, Argyle will need to be very effective on offense and play a very good defensive game in order to win this game in the weather conditions that are forecasted. As a run-heavy type of team, LV definitely will have an advantage in wet weather conditions. The wild card is turnovers, field position, and special teams play.
