Well I feel good about our team's success so far (Giddings), but I don't feel "1st place" good yet. I would put them in the top ten, but don't know enough about the other teams yet to say where....

Surprised about Smithville's success this year.

Giddings will play 7. Smithville and 6. Bellville this year at home in Giddings.
The problem with socialism is, eventually you run out of other peoples' money.

This is in alignment with the current AP poll. I'm sure there will be multiple changes after each week.

    Region 4

    1. Cuero (2-1)
    2. Rio Hondo (3-0)
    3. Geronimo Navarro (2-1)
    4. Wimberley (1-2)
    5. Devine (2-1)
    6. Hondo (2-1)
    7. Rockport-Fulton (1-2)
    8. Llano (2-1)
    9. Raymondville (2-1)
    10. Orange Grove (1-2)
In my opinion, I would drop Devine and Hondo down to #9 and #10 in the rankings, and here's why. The past several years, historically, the district they are in has been obliterated by D13 in the playoffs. So until they win a playoff game, I wouldn't rate them very high.

IMO, I'd move Raymondville up a bit. Though they had a minor setback vs. La Feria, they've been dominant in their 2 wins. I'd drop Rio Hondo down to around 3, 4, or 5. Though they're unbeaten now, they've shown that their defense is suspect. Case in point, their win last week over Brownsville St. Joseph who lost their all-everything QB Kai Money to graduation. Even though their OL and QB are young (St. Joe) they still put 33 up on Rio Hondo before the Bobcats finally pulled away in the 2nd half.

Here's how I'd rank 4A DII Region IV.

    Region 4

    1. Cuero (2-1)
    2. Geronimo Navarro (2-1)
    3. Rio Hondo (3-0)
    4. Wimberley (1-2)
    5. Raymondville (2-1)
    6. Llano (2-1)
    7. Rockport-Fulton (1-2)
    8. Orange Grove (1-2)
    9. Devine (2-1)
    10. Hondo (2-1)

Also, keep an eye on Port Isabel out of D16. They've been through some changes, but that new coach they have down there has the kids believing again. They got their first W of the season last week and they're hoping to make a statement this Friday vs. 4A D1 Region 4 #10 La Feria at their house.
