FWIW, DCTF it shows us as 6th. I'd almost rather stay off the radar as of yet.

They have a brand new facility and it is very nice. Be prepared though that when you park in the visitor's section you will have to walk around the north end of the field to get to the visitor's gate.

In addition, don't be in a hurry getting out after the game............it could take a while.

When the Rockets played them, they scored first and were up on us, I think 21-7 at one point. Afterwards, we scored 5 unanswered TD's. Their passing game is not too good.

I might be wrong on exactly how much they were up on us, but the point is that once our defense figured out how to shut them down, they shut them down..............you have to take in account that the Rocket defense has been a sieve the last few years and for them to do this to anyone is a good step forward, but it could also say Taylor is weak offensively.

Have a safe trip to the game and enjoy!

Buffs pulled out a 24-14 win over a tough Taylor Duck team.

Ducks kept making 3rd and long passes that would gain 30 yds or more in the 2nd half. Much like the Aggie/Clemson game, the Ducks could not effectively run the ball after the long TD they started with. But they made up for it in their passing game. QB has a good arm. I would guess that except for their first TD, 75% of their yards came from their passing game.

Prayers are needed for Taylor Duck #4 receiver who hurt his knee. He caught a 10-15 yard pass on the run and it was a drag race down the field. A Buff apparently horse collared him down at the 2. The flags were thrown late. I admit, I did not have a real good look at the tackle. I pray he's OK. They said on the chat board that he had come back from a severe broken leg prior to this.

It rained really hard in the 1st quarter, which changed the game for a bit, but it stopped raining and then dead calm and humid. The Buffs did attempt some passes, but with only a bit of luck. If we would have connected on a few more passes, the score would be different. We did however run the ball well. Mostly for 5 yards at a time. I got to hand it to the Ducks D, they played hard the entire game. I was thinking our ground game would wear them down, but I did not see such happening.

I did not buy any skittles, but I did buy a sausage wrap. Boy was it greasy. Need to send some Shiner, Hallettsville or Fredericksburg boys over to Taylor to show them how to make good sausage. The nacho cheese was typical canned yucky stadium goo they call cheese.

The stadium was really nice, but the parking for visitors sucked. If you go as a visitor, you need to pull in the first entrance on the north side of the school. The locals will pull in the 2nd south side entrance. As a visitor, you still have to walk all the way around the stadium from the lot to the stands, outside the perimeter fences. They should have built a parking lot in the back. There actually is one, but they had it blocked off.....go figure. This really sucked for handicapped people.

I am offended the AP Poll would be used in the same discussion as the DCTF Poll...everyone know the AP Poll is the worst by a mile...then my poll is 2nd worst lol

I would agree. also think when dealing with high school boys and other unknowns, that any poll is almost worthless until the 6th or 7th week.

Another side note, I hope it was the rains that caused relatively poor attendance by the Duck's fans.

It seemed Giddings had as many, or more fans there after the rain subsided.

In actuality all polls for HS Football are worthless since its decided in the playoffs...although the AP Poll has silly errors and mistakes because writers from around the state don't pay attention to teams outside of their area

Well, I kinda look like I don’t know what I’m talking about on Taylor ‘s passing. Alls I was going on was how they did against us, which wasn’t so good. Sounds like they improved.

I too had a sausage wrap and concur (Cam, this means I agree with him) that they need some help.

I tried to warn ya about the parking.

Good luck the rest of the season and stampede on or do whatever it is that Buffalo do.

Grass is a hybrid. A cross of bluegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, featherbed bent, and northern California sinsemilla. The amazing stuff about this is that you can play football on it in the evening take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt at night on this stuff. ................Caddyshack - Bill Murray
