Looks complete to me. Evidently the cream has risen to the top now. Out of 16 teams left in the regions.....14 were district champs. Only Denver City(third in district) and Beeville Jones(runnerup) did not win their district. Looks to be a very wide open field left......any team left can win it all.

Did you notice that Pleasant Grove vs. Argyle is the only one-gamer??? PG must have won that flip. I guess every other team is happy about that, Huh? PG gets a legitimate shot at knocking out the top team in the field......their best pitcher against Argyle in a one-game showdown. I'd say their odds are much better now.....maybe 50/50 to advance to the regional final. PG knocked out Argyle last season at this same meeting in a 3-gamer......Argyle had only one loss last season when they met. PG went on to win the regional final and lost to eventual State Champ Wylie in the State Semifinals.

Last season's regional winners and final four were Abilene Wylie in Region I, Pleasant Grove in Region II, Robinson in Region III, and Sinton in Region IV. Wylie(36-1) defeated Pleasant Grove(35-4) and Robinson(31-3) defeated Sinton(30-6-2) in the State Semifinal round. Then Wylie defeated Robinson in the State Final by a score of 6-5. All games in the state tournament are one-gamers.

In 2016.....Pleasant Grove defeated Argyle in a one-gamer to win the Region II. PG lost to Wylie in the State Semifinal, and Robinson(Region III) lost to Salado(Region IV) in the other semifinal. Then Wylie defeated Salado in the State Final by a score of 3-2. Salado is in Region III now. Wylie was defeated by Iowa Park this past week in a 3 gamer......so they will not 3-peat as State Champion. Wylie moves up to Class 5A next season.

Yes, might be his worst strike percentage of the year, I’ll have to go back and look.
