Was very unhappy when I finally ate at Sam's a few years ago...the place is falling apart and it was on par with Lubys at best.

Mary's..I think consistency is the issue...I have had it and it was one of the best..and then had it when it was very very meh.

Y'all are killing me the the King George comments. I was watching that guy sing Amarillo By Morning when nobody hardly even knew who was. Wrangler jeans, Tony Lama boots and white Stetsons. That was good times right there.
