Sealy ISD Superintendent Sheryl Moore released the following statement in response to activities that occurred Sept. 15, the morning of the Sealy High School Homecoming game.

“Sealy ISD in no way encourages or condones the early morning ‘senior parade’ that has come to be associated with homecoming.

This year, there were multiple instances of reckless driving, damage to private property and trash left in our streets and parks.

Five cars were recorded passing a stopped school bus that was loading students.

The consequences of this type of disregard for safety could have been tragic.

Sealy ISD will work with city, county and state officials to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again. The behavior of the students this year went far beyond ‘kids will be kids,’ and we cannot, in good conscience, allow this practice to continue.”
